Novynette – contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation, pregnancy or suspicion of it, the period of breastfeeding, a history of venous or arterial thromboembolic disorders or the current ones (stroke, heart attack, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), symptoms that may be the first signs of thrombosis (temporary history of ischemic attack, angina), diabetes mellitus with vascular changes, severe hypertension, dyslipoproteinaemia, coagulation disorders (e.g. congenital deficiency of antithrombin III, protein C or S, resistance to activated protein C, hyperhomocysteinemia, antiphospholipid antibodies or anticardiolipin, lupus anticoagulant), pancreatitis with severe hypertriglyceridemia now or in the past, liver disease until the liver parameters have normalized, current or past liver cancer, past or present presence or suspicion of breast cancer or other hormone-dependent neoplasm, migraine with accompanying unexplained focal neurological symptoms, vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology.

Novynette – dosage

Orally.

Taking the preparation should be started on the 1st day of the cycle, using 1 tablet / day at the same time of the day for 21 days, in the direction of the arrows on the blister. This is followed by a 7-day break; during this time, you should have a period similar to menstrual bleeding.

Then, for 7 days, no medication is taken, and during this break, withdrawal bleeding occurs. The next pack should be started after the 7-day break, even if the withdrawal bleeding is still ongoing.
