PSYchology

Someone Wenders quarreled with a local healer, and he cursed him, promising a quick death.

Wenders returned home and took to his bed; the doctors could not understand the cause of the disease, but one healer found an antidote: he announced to the patient that the sorcerer had placed a reptile egg in his stomach, she hatched and eats it from the inside. The patient got emetic, “spewed” the lizard, experienced relief and recovered. Both the causative agent of the disease and the remedy was «nothingness», although it was generously seasoned with persuasion. A collection of articles published in the New Scientist magazine explores the concept of «nothing» in physics and mathematics, philosophy and psychology. It is curious to pay attention to what eludes our consciousness (and «nothing» by definition is one of such entities): this is the training of awareness and intelligence.
