Not just overweight: doctors warned of the dire consequences of drinking soda

The effect of carbonated drinks on the human body is much more dangerous than it seemed.

British Nutritionist, MD and Nutritional Consultant at Oh So Spotless Brittany Lüberk says carbonated drinks contain huge amounts of caffeine, are addictive and negatively affect brain function.

Continuous consumption of the caffeine in soda can lead to chemical changes in the brain that make you and your brain want to drink it over and over again, ”says Brittany in her study.

Previously, it was believed that carbonated drinks can negatively affect only the figure due to the high sugar content in their composition. But in 2017, physician Chris Airy published his research in the journal Sleep Health, where it was said that soda, which contains caffeine, affects sleep duration, and can negatively affect memory with age.

Scientists conducted an experiment on rats. For a long time they were allowed to drink carbonated water instead of ordinary water. Soon, scientists noticed that animals could not perceive new information, and also lost some of the already assimilated. Doctors decided to test their theory and hooked up to the subjects with a new batch of rats that had not previously consumed sweets. In the course of changing the diet, animals with a sweet tooth also began to experience problems remembering new data. Later, the rats were examined on a tomograph, and it turned out that their brain volume decreased by 2%.

Drinking carbonated drinks without sugar and caffeine is also not an option. American scientist Emily Noble says that the abuse of these drinks provokes the development of dementia.

A 2017 study concluded that consumption of diet soda is associated with an increased risk of stroke and dementia, ”the scientist points out in his papers.

Scientists are sure that any carbonated water negatively affects the body, so it is better to completely exclude it from your diet.
