Not a drop past: leave-in hair balm

A leave-in hair balm is perhaps the only product of its kind that can turn dry strands into flowing silks in seconds (or at least bring them closer to this look), and then take care of hair and protect it all day long. Interested? Read on.

How does a leave-in hair balm work?

A leave-in hair balm is an additional care product that smooths hair, fills in the voids in the structure, softens, facilitates combing and styling, and also protects the strands from dehydration and damage during the day.

Compared to conditioners and conditioners, leave-in products work more intensively and are often multifunctional products.

Leave-in hair balm is produced in different formats and textures (cream, spray, oil, milk), but, as a rule, its formula, with all its saturation, cannot be called heavy. The tool should be imperceptible on the hair and in no case provoke their accelerated pollution – after all, you will have to wear this “mantle” for at least a whole day.

The composition of the leave-in balm is very close to masks and conditioners, here are the most popular ingredients:

  • oils (soften the hair, nourish it and smooth the cuticle);

  • structural components (keratin, amino acids);

  • light silicones (give smoothness to hair and form a protective layer);

  • glycerin, aloe, hyaluronic acid (moisturize).

However, there is a difference between rinse-off and leave-in conditioners (balms). Wash-offs have an average more acidic pH – this is necessary to neutralize the alkaline effect of the shampoo (it lifts the cuticle scales) and restore smoothness to the cuticle. Therefore, you should not use a regular conditioner as a leave-in hair balm.
