North Venice

Champagne “Northern Venice” is a product of the company of the same name, located in the village of Novy Svet not far from St. Petersburg. Sparkling wine is made by the classical reservoir method from imported wine materials. The drink has a fresh and clean bouquet, typical of classic types of champagne.

Historical information

The company “Northern Venice” began its work in 1998. The enterprise in the Leningrad region was built thanks to the efforts of a group of entrepreneurs led by Olga Kotovich. From the very beginning, it was decided to produce only champagne. In the late 90s, the market was experiencing a shortage of quality sparkling wines, and the young company had practically no competitors in the region. At first, productivity remained low – the production volume was 7 million bottles per year, over time this figure almost doubled.

In 2007, the plant moved to a new site in the village of Novy Svet, which is located near Gatchina. The enterprise was equipped with new high-tech equipment, which made it possible to diversify the assortment with collections of dessert and table wines. In subsequent years, the scale of production only grew – there were already three bottling lines in the shops, and the company itself was awarded the honorary title of “Industry Leader 2008”.

Champagne “Northern Venice” is the flagship brand and visiting card of the plant. The drink has been produced since the first years of the enterprise. The wine was created by master blenders based on the latest achievements of world and European oenology. The company’s products are sold in 50 regions of Russia and have been highly appreciated by consumers.

Production features

The company purchases wine materials from major suppliers in Portugal, Spain and South Africa. Production is carried out by the method of reservoir champagne. The raw materials received at the enterprise are settled for about a month, then the still wines are mixed into a blend, where a special yeast culture is added. The mixture is placed in large fermentation tanks, where for a little more than three weeks the future champagne is naturally saturated with carbon dioxide. Then the sparkling wine is cold-treated for several days and served for filtration and bottling.
