At the end of 2019, the IPSOS agency conducted a study “Poles and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease”. In the survey, 56 percent. of the respondents answered that abdominal pain may indicate a diseased liver. This is an obvious mistake because the liver – which is not innervated – never hurts. However, disturbing symptoms may include malaise, sleep disturbances, lack of appetite or fatigue. As much as 41 percent. people who took part in the study have never tested their liver, and 72 percent. has not even heard of the existence of NAFLD.
