The restrictions related to the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic announced on March 25 are too soft, according to some experts. Last year, during Easter, there was a hard lockdown with a ban on movement. Prof. Horban admitted that such a restriction could be introduced. «Tomorrow not yet, but the day after tomorrow may be». Everything depends on the numbers.
- From March 27 to April 9, a lockdown will apply in Poland with new restrictions. Closed are, among others nurseries and kindergartens
- The following days bring records of infections. On Friday, 35 were confirmed. 143 new cases of coronavirus in Poland
- According to prof. Andrzej Fala, the government will introduce new changes in the restrictions before Christmas

Prof. Horban: “Tomorrow not yet, but the day after tomorrow maybe yes”
On March 25, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski announced that new restrictions would apply in connection with the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Poland. However, the list of restrictions did not include the ban on traveling during Easter. Therefore, experts commented hotly that this was a “soft” lockdown.
– This is a soft recommendation, something that the rulers like. Adapt, but if you don’t, nothing will happen – said Dr. Bartosz Fiałek in an interview with Medonet. -And this is a problem, because in my opinion this movement should be limited hard. So that citizens do not travel from the voivodeship to the voivodeship, because they think it would be worth visiting their parents or going shopping there. A restriction at the poviat level should be introduced here – you do not leave the poviat, unless you have a justified need: business or random events.

In turn, prof. Andrzej Horban, chief adviser to the Medical Council to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland on Friday’s Rzeczpospolita daily, said that a hard lockdown is still possible. He indicated that the border is 30 thousand. infections per day – three such days in a row lead to system failure.
– We should then urgently apply the solutions from the previous spring and Easter – said prof. Horban. He also suggested that it was also possible to close Poland and introduce a curfew. – Not tomorrow, but maybe the day after tomorrow.
Prof. Fal: “I think we are waiting a few more days before a more drastic measure”
Prof. Andrzej Fal, head of the Department of Allergology, Lung Diseases and Internal Diseases of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, believes that the rulers have not said the last word on Easter.
– I think that the decisions announced on Thursday are still pending decisions. More facilities have been joined to the already closed facilities, but the holidays are coming and we are probably waiting a few more days before a more drastic measure, which will be limiting travel during the holidays. If the current restrictions do not work, I am of the opinion that it will be a necessity. We should not allow us to freely go to relatives, friends or acquaintances and exchange local variants of the virus – says prof. Fal in an interview with Medonet.

What data are the rulers waiting for? According to the expert, it is about the effects of previous restrictions rather than the latest restrictions.
– Basic changes were introduced last Saturday and it is rather their effect that can be assessed and taken into account in the context of Easter – analyzes prof. Halyard. – Tuesday will be 10 days from the national “little lockdown”. As of March 27, we include another minor factor – announced on Thursday – but its full translation into contamination is beyond assessment in four days. It is a kind of support that will probably give something in the long term, but I think that those who make decisions are waiting and we will surely hear something else from them before Christmas. I’m not saying bad. It might be good if it turns out that the decisions from eight days ago worked. But if not, then a hard lockdown awaits us.
