On Monday, June 28, the Ministry of Health announced 52 new coronavirus infections. No new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in three provinces.

In contrast, the number of deaths was zero.

Zero deaths due to COVID-19 in Poland

There are many indications that the third wave of the coronavirus in Poland has been extinguished. This is largely the result of vaccinations. To date, 28,5 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in our country. Fully vaccinated are already 12 million 682 thousand. 542 people. At least one dose was received by 16. 681 people.

The number of fatalities is a derivative of the number of new infections from several days ago. And since June 12, the number of new infections has not exceeded 250. Data from the last two days shows only double-digit numbers.

There is another factor as well. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of casualties reported after the weekend is clearly lower than the data for the middle of the week. – On weekends, reporting is worse at all levels, including the number of deaths. These deaths are reported on the following days, as all overdue documents needed to complete the death form are sent to the physician declaring the death. The highest numbers are given by the Ministry of Health on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which means that some deaths from weekends can be reported on Tuesdays or Wednesdays – explained Bartosz Fiałek in an interview with Medonet.
