Loosening the restrictions between May and June? One restriction for sure remains

The Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, in an interview with the Polish Armed Forces, announced that in the coming weeks we can probably expect further loosening in terms of restrictions introduced in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

– Most likely, at the turn of May and June, we will inform you about the next steps in terms of easing the security rules. As of today, I see no obstacles if these changes are not new, that is, the easing of the sanitary regime in many places and the restoration of activity. Many people suggest acceleration, but we prefer to be careful in this regard – added Niedzielski.

There is only one thing we will not move. Masks will be mandatory inside the so-called in common spaces and wherever you cannot keep your distance.

Interest in vaccinations against COVID-19 in Poland is declining. Will there be coercion and punishments?

A few days ago, Minister Michał Dworczyk said in an interview with RMF FM that so far only 48 percent. Poles (adults or over 16 years of age) were vaccinated with the first dose or registered for vaccination against COVID-19. The decline in interest was also confirmed by Adam Niedzielski. In his opinion, in June, vaccinations will wait for people, not the other way around.

– From the point of view of the vaccination process this is a problem, from the point of view of population immunity it is not so bad – he added. – Our research shows that antibodies to COVID-19 may have from 55 to 60 percent. adult Poles. Right now, right now.

The solution that may, at least to some extent, increase the interest in vaccinations in Poland is to meet the needs of patients. It goes, among others o enabling GPs to generate a list of patients who have not yet been vaccinated. They will then be able to call them and persuade them to take the preparation. In addition, there is a home vaccination campaign for those patients who cannot get to the point.

Niedzielski has at the moment ruled out the possibility of introducing penalties for people who have not decided to vaccinate against COVID-19. He also denied rumors that the unvaccinated would have to pay for their own treatment.

According to the minister, if no further mutations of the coronavirus appear, and the process of vaccinating the public will continue, there is a chance that we will not return to the sanitary regime in the fall.

The minister also commented on the issue of subsequent doses of the coronavirus vaccine. For several weeks it has been said that the administration of the third dose may be necessary, for example in the case of the Pfizer preparation.

– If there are scientific studies that show that the next dose of the vaccine is necessary, we will introduce it in Poland. If it turns out that the next dose will better protect against new and new mutations, we will definitely consider it. For now, however, there is no such certainty, so there is no topic – added Niedzielski.
