Nicole Richie had a sad childhood – her father died when the girl was only two years old … By her own admission, this event was not easy for her to survive. However, in the future, fate has smiled at her more than once. It all started with the fact that the famous musician Lionel Richie, together with his wife Brenda-Harvey Richie, decided to take the baby under guardianship, and when she was nine years old, he officially adopted Nicole, giving his last name.

Richie’s godparents are such stars of world show business as Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. It is not surprising that the girl is fond of art: first she learns to play the violin, piano, cello and guitar, then she graduates from The Buckley School and goes to the Faculty of Mass Media Arts at the University of Arizona.

And again, fortune presents her favorite with a gift: in 2003, the Fox TV channel invites Nicole to shoot in the reality show “Simple Life”, in which she will work with the shocking Paris Hilton. By the way, Richie’s relationship with the famous socialite is going well – the girls are friends, and Paris makes Nicole literally her confidante. Richie is transforming before our eyes: the process is developing so rapidly that by the end of the year she is approaching the 42nd size (while a year ago the actress’s weight was 70 kg). Such vivid changes did not go unnoticed by the public, which immediately wanted to know the “beauty secret” of Jackson’s goddaughter. Indeed, how from a charming bbw Nicole turned into a beautiful swan in a matter of months?

There was no trace of past overweight problems – in the photographs of the gossip, Richie shone with a graceful figure. At the same time, Nicole herself answered all the questions that she “owes” such large-scale metamorphoses to troubles (the actress survived the arrest for drunk driving) and diet. By the way, the nutrition system that the Hollywood diva came to, after long work with specialists and numerous experiments with diets, is conventionally called the Nicole Richie diet. A series of fasting days (no more than three monthly) includes breakfast, which consists of a hard-boiled egg without adding salt and a coffee cup of unsweetened green tea, lunch, consisting of a portion of low-fat cottage cheese (0,2 kg) and a cup of tea without sugar, and dinner, which duplicates lunch.

It would seem that the goal has been achieved, and you can enjoy life … But the struggle with former complexes so captured Nicole that it turned into an obsession – the actress could not stop and continued to melt before our eyes. In the fall of 2006, rumors appeared that the TV personality was suffering from anorexia. And after the photos of Richie relaxing on the beach in Malibu, the verdict issued by the press was confirmed: the actress was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of hypoglycemia (an indicator at which the level of glucose in the blood falls below 3,5 mmol / l), which was the result of exhausting diets. The tabloids were full of sensational shots of her anorexic figure: with a height of 155 cm, Nicole weighed about 40 kg! But Nicole Richie insisted that “anorexia, bulimia and other passions are not about her.”

“I think it would be somewhat unfair to say that a person has similar diseases, – said the star in an interview. – Especially when these diseases do not exist. This is extremely irresponsible and very insulting. Such diseases are a serious ailment, namely an ailment, a disease. I do not think that you can easily define a person’s illness if he himself has not openly stated it. ” Meanwhile, Nicole topped the top thin Hollywood stars – she was called the most skinny actress. The scandalous popularity and public reproaches reached unprecedented proportions. Richie was also credited with drug use – in 2006, the actress was arrested for the second time for driving under the influence of drugs. Nicole herself attributed this to nutritional problems caused by an unhealthy lifestyle and inadequate environment.

“The people I talked to had a negative effect on me,” the actress admitted. “I fell under their influence, I thought that their words were almost the truth.” The girl’s father and mother decided to put her in a specialized clinic, where she fought with her ailments for a long time.

The black streak in the life of the “golden girl” once again turned out to be an unexpected success: in June 2007, the media stirred the news about the pregnancy of “anorexic” Nicole. From that moment on, it-girl seemed to be replaced: endless parties were replaced by fitness lessons and a healthy lifestyle. Later, Richie admits that it was her daughter who saved her from health problems, and the pregnancy made her grow up.

In January 2008 (on the same day with Christina Aguilera) Nicole Richie and her lover became the parents of the lovely Harlow Winter Kate Madden. During pregnancy, the star blonde recovered a little, so she again acquired curvaceous forms. But, to everyone’s surprise, two weeks later, at one of the social events, the girl sported an elegant dress that emphasized the perfect figure. According to the young mother, she managed to get in good shape thanks to dietary nutrition. A variety of fruits (watermelons and mangoes), fresh and steamed vegetables, steamed fish, no pastries and sweets – this was the actress’s diet.

In 2009, the beautiful Nicole became a mother for the second time, giving birth to a son, Sparrow. “It’s much better than winning an Oscar! – said Joel Madden, having learned about Richie’s pregnancy. “God really made my family happy!”

After marrying her boyfriend and the father of her two children, Joel Madden, in December 2011, Nicole settled down: according to the actress, she found a balance. Now she keeps in shape with the help of her “personalized” diet, or rather, three-day fasting days. Richie has an interval of 4 hours between meals. According to Ayurveda, this is the optimal time for the digestion of food and the smooth transition of the body from one time of day to another. During breaks, the actress drinks at least eight glasses of ordinary still water, and prefers berries as snacks – there are few calories, a lot of fiber. The diet cannot do without a vitamin and mineral complex, which compensates for the lack of elements useful for the body. As a continuation of the three-day diet, Nicole recommends consuming plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as protein foods such as fish, veal and poultry. “I realized that a beautiful figure is not skin and bones,” admits the actress, who survived anorexia. “I want my body to be really perfect, and this is impossible without proper nutrition and inclusion in the diet of foods that are necessary for the human body.” Healthy nutrition comes with fitness: she regularly goes to workouts, the program of which includes an hour of dancing, and then a set of cardio exercises for the legs and arms and intense work with the abs. And at this pace – three times a week.

“I really like my body,” says Richie. – I can be bigger by nature, but I try not to let myself go. I put in a lot of effort and I’m proud of it. I train well, I sleep enough, so I’m doing great. It is very important for me”. Keep it up, Nicole!
