New York Fashion Week: Top 5 Beauty Trends

Fall / Winter 2014/15 New York Fashion Week has ended today. Woman’s Day has selected five of the most interesting beauty trends.

Naturalness at the Michael Kors show

Michael Kors Show Fall / Winter 2014/15

At the Michael Kors show, the models looked as natural as possible. Make-up artist Dick Page, who works on this show, evened out the tone of the face with foundation and powder with bronzer, lined the eyelids with a brown or gray pencil, slightly dyed the eyelashes with black voluminous mascara and applied a barely noticeable matte lipstick to the lips.

The girls’ hairstyles were done by stylist Orlando Pite. He gathered the hair at the back of his head, loosely letting loose a few strands of hair around his face. And for the volume, the master used styling paste and dry shampoo.

Makeup with emphasis on lips at the Rodarte show

Rodarte show, fall / winter – 2014/15

The makeup of the models on the Rodarte show was called infantile by many critics. Makeup artist James Kaliadros also focused on the lips. For this, Nars cosmetics came in handy. First, he drew his lips in with a pencil, then applied lipstick and gloss of the same shade, and then – sparkling glitter. For each girl, the master chose his own shade: light pink, lilac, dark brown or ocher. For eye makeup, James Kaliadros used an ocher shade and one or two coats of voluminous black mascara.

The hair of the girls on this show was divided by stylists into a side parting, and the strands near the face were neatly collected at the back of the head. By the way, the model with pink and lilac curls deserved special attention of the public. So the trend of colored strands, popular this spring, will be relevant in the next season.

Romantic look at the Badgley Mischka show

On the Badgley Mischka show, makeup artists and stylists, despite the cold season, suggested staying romantic and gentle. The makeup of all models at the catwalk was sustained in the same style: an even face tone, clearly traced eyebrows, bright yellow shadows on the mobile eyelid, black arrows, matte pale pink lipstick on the lips.

The girls’ hairstyle was similar to that used by the stylists at the Rodarte show: smooth straight strands laid on a side parting, masters fastened to the back of the head.

Short hair at the Oscar De La Renta show

The “boy-like” haircut in the fall of 2013 was brought into fashion by actress Pamela Anderson. In 2014, this trend was picked up by stylists for the OscarDeLaRenta show. Models with casually styled short hair and thick bangs up to their eyebrows have been discussed by fashion critics and bloggers.

In terms of makeup, makeup artists preferred the emphasis on the eyes. Experts brought the models’ eyes with a black or dark brown pencil, and applied shadows of the same tone to the moving eyelid, gently shading them. For the lips, a matte lipstick of a natural shade was used.
