If earlier we saw them only in foreign films, now a wreath for the New Year can be bought at any store selling Christmas tree decorations. But such beauty is not cheap – about 4500 rubles. But we offer you to make a New Year’s wreath with your own hands. It will turn out no worse and even better. Watch our colorful master class with step by step video and photo instructions.
What materials do we need
- Artificial spruce branch – 1 piece
- Misura — 1 meter
- Silver Christmas toys, diameter 6 cm – 8 pieces
- Silver Christmas toys, diameter 3 cm – 18 pieces
- Red beads, diameter 1,5 cm – 10 pieces
- Red beads, diameter 1 cm – 6 pieces
- Red beads, diameter 0,5 cm – 20 pieces
- Red flowers – 3 pieces
- Glue gun. Glue took three sticks 29 cm long and 0,7 cm in diameter.
- Cardboard with a diameter of 48 cm.
The cost of materials for the New Year’s wreath and where to buy them
- I bought an artificial branch in a well-known construction hypermarket, it costs 600 rubles. Any will do, but better, of course, artificial, as the real one will crumble over time. And this wreath can be used for more than one year.
- I bought toys in another hypermarket, they cost 350 rubles, beads – 178 rubles.
- As a result, I spent 800 rubles on the New Year’s wreath (I did not use all the toys). The most expensive part of the wreath, as you already understood, was the spruce branch!
- In the same hypermarket where I bought a branch, I noticed ready-made wreaths. Large ones (58 cm) cost from 4500 rubles. We will make the same size and very beautiful. In my opinion, significant savings!
- As for the cardboard. I didn’t buy it. And I used from the usual empty box.
- This fashionable interior decoration is made very simply and quickly. The main thing is that all materials are at hand. Intermittently, I created a New Year’s wreath with my own hands in just one day.
- Chose the color scheme in red and silver. Please note that silver toys have a different texture: there are matte, glossy and shiny! All together look very elegant.
Step by step guide
Step 1. Making the basis of the New Year’s wreath
1. The base of the wreath is cardboard. Cut out a circle with a diameter of 24 cm from any thick cardboard. In the middle, you will need to cut an inner circle with a radius of 13 cm. As a result, we will get a ring with a width of 11 cm.
IMPORTANT! If the cardboard is loose, make it in two or three layers, since the spruce branch is heavy, and there will be a lot of toys on it!
2. On the prepared cardboard base, lay out our branch. If it is long, cut off the excess with wire cutters. We take a glue gun and fix the beginning of our spruce branch. Now in a circle we glue the entire branch on the glue!
3. This is how our wreath looks like with a spruce branch attached to it. If your branch isn’t as fluffy, you can paint the base of cardboard green so that the empty spaces don’t catch your eye.
4. With the help of tinsel we make an imitation of snow.
5. My tinsel is white with a silver tint. It goes well with New Year’s toys, and looks like a snowball.
Step 2. Decorate the wreath with toys
6. And now the fun begins! We will decorate the wreath with toys. But take your time! To begin with, attach the toys to those places that seem to you the most successful, and only after that start gluing them!

9. New Year’s wreath is ready!
I will hang it on a plastic hook, which is attached to the surface with adhesive tape, and can withstand weight up to 1 kg. If you do not have a hook, then you can tie a red ribbon to the wreath and tie a bow, use it and hang it on a carnation.
