New Year’s design and decor

New Year’s design and decor

The Christmasworld exhibition, held in Frankfurt at the beginning of this year, defined the style of New Year’s decor 2009-2010.

Under the general motto Express your dreams, 4 main trends were presented, which were named: Air, Lollipop, Comfort and Passion.

Airy

Design and decor

This New Year’s trend implies lightness and airiness in all forms. Flowing lines and graceful designs, transparent materials, the dominance of white. The rest of the tones – from cream and pink to light gray, all blurred as much as possible with snow white or silver. Glass and porcelain balls, mother-of-pearl and crystal decor, chiffon and silk bows … In a word, the romance of the 21st century!

  • 10 ways to decorate your Christmas tree in an unusual way

Playful and light-hearted as the epitome of everything we call girly – a luscious sweetness on the verge of kitsch. The main decorative motive is, oddly enough, flowers in all their non-seasonal variety. An abundance of bright colors: fuchsia, pink, aqua, the first spring greens, violets and limes. Materials: plastic, porcelain, tulle and satin. And, of course, a million scarlet roses!

At the heart of this cozy style: a natural theme that has been trendy in New Year’s decor for the last two years. The main palette is muted earthy shades, slate and brown. As accents – red and orange. Wooden toys, garlands and balls made of felt and cotton wool, compositions of dried flowers and nuts, candles. Norwegian deer and geometric patterns – in short, everything that symbolizes tradition and creates a sense of comfort.
