New Year’s decor: olive color in the interior

Traditions do not arise from scratch. It takes a good reason to break them. Such, for example, as this interior, sustained in a cool olive-mint tones. For the sake of this idea, you can safely abandon the usual red-green New Year’s decorations.

A juniper branch in a bottle will turn into a wonderful Christmas composition. All you need is basic paper handling skills and a little dexterity. White braided stars are a typical Scandinavian tradition. They will be complemented by wrapping paper rolls. Vata in them symbolizes “angel hair”.

Laurel, symbolizing peace from time immemorial, will cope with the role of a New Year tree no worse than a traditional spruce. It is enough to decorate it with glass balls. On an old kerosene lamp (Opening Day in Izmailovo) there is a glass parrot in a cap made from an ice cream cone.

Even ordinary plastic pots can look dainty when wrapped in lace. You can buy fishnet ribbons or valances at any craft or sewing store. They will be the perfect match with an olive and white curtain.

Ice cream cake. Beat 6 whites until frothy, add 200 g of sugar, then 300 ml of cream, 200 ml of whole milk and 150 g of chopped pistachios. Freeze the resulting mass. Chop the ice cream into pieces and mix them in a food processor until an airy mass is obtained, and freeze it quickly. Decorate the cake with whipped cream and whole pistachios.

Lentil soup is unlikely to decorate the New Year’s table, but a candle in a glass bowl filled with colored lentils or peas is another matter! The green theme will be supported by dried branches from the herbarium.

This mountain of pillows will instantly transform your living room. A playful mood is created by fabrics that are different in texture and color, but kept in the same range. Pillows can be decorated with simple embroidery or laced with contrasting lace.

Thanks to the patchwork technique, the scraps of fabric left after sewing bedspreads and cushions can turn into a Christmas tree. For this, patches and lace are folded in several layers in the form of men’s ties and sewn on top of each other. At the end of each tie, you can sew a small loop, for which gifts are hung on threads. Of course, they should not be too heavy so that the patchwork tree does not sag and retain its shape. Use a stick or broomstick instead of a trunk.

Traditional pine cones and berries will replace felted snowmen in mint green scarves.
