New traffic signs 2022
In Our Country, traffic signs periodically appear and are updated. The largest package of amendments was in November 2017 – several dozen new products at once. But even after that, signs were added from time to time

New signs are added to the rules of the road from time to time. After all, the institution of paid parking is actively developing in the country, the video monitoring system is endlessly being finalized and other innovations are being introduced. We have collected all the new signs that appeared in Our Country from 2017 to 2022.

Saving signs

This is when one is used instead of two pointers. For example, parking for the disabled is now indicated by several signs: “Parking” and a sign of additional information “Disabled”. The same situation with paid parking – the places are marked with two signs.

Now it is officially allowed to use one canvas, on which there are several pictograms.

Such combined signs save money, as there are fewer signs to put up. And just visual garbage is removed – pointers do not attract attention.

Hint signs

There are new variants of signs of the beginning of the strip. They are more informative. The motorist sees in advance that the additional row that has appeared ends with a mandatory turn or U-turn.

The driver can distinguish in advance the usual widening of the road from the pocket for a forced maneuver.

New signs

Sign “Give way to everyone and you can go right”. Allows drivers to turn right at a red traffic light. The main thing is to let all other road users through first.

Sign “Diagonal pedestrian crossing”. The pointer is designed for both drivers and pedestrians. Motorists should be prepared for the fact that people at the intersection may suddenly go diagonally. And let pedestrians know about the possibility of crossing the road obliquely.

Sign “Entry to the intersection in case of traffic jam”. If a sign is placed, then yellow markings must be applied at the intersection. The paint shows the intersection of roads. Drivers who remain on the yellow square after the red light turns on will receive a fine of 100 rubles. Because according to the rules, you can’t go to a busy intersection.

Despite the fact that all signs are approved by Rosstandart, the regions can use the signs at their discretion. The notional Metropolitan Department of Transportation is not required to allow a right turn under a red light at every intersection. But the department can allow such a maneuver wherever it sees fit, without additional approval from the federal authorities.

Signs “Zone with restriction of the ecological class of motor vehicles” and “Zone with restriction of the ecological class of trucks” (5.35 and 5.36)

They were approved in 2018, but they are still rare on our roads. You can only meet them in the capitals – Moscow and St. Petersburg. They prohibit the entry of cars of a low ecological class into a certain part of the city (the ecological class is less than the number on the sign). The environmental class is specified in the STS. If it is not specified, then entry is still prohibited – this innovation was added in 2021. Fine 500 rubles.

The new sign means that only cars with red diplomatic plates are allowed to park in this area.

“Parking for parking permit holders only” (8.9.1)

This sign is found so far only in Moscow. Only residents are allowed to park in the designated parking area, which is the name given to local residents who are given a kind of privilege to park in the city center near residential areas where it is always difficult to find a place. Violators are fined 2500 rubles.

«Photographic photography» (6.22)

New for 2021. Although “novelty”, perhaps, it is worth writing in quotation marks. For this sign exactly repeats 8.23, in which the location and meaning have changed. Previously, a sign was placed in front of each cell. Now it is placed on a stretch of road or in front of a settlement. There are tens, if not hundreds of thousands of cameras across the country. And almost all of them are indicated in navigators, drivers are keenly interested in their location and look for addresses on the Internet, which are already published by the media in the public domain. In order not to litter the streets with unnecessary signs, the meaning of the sign “Photo-video fixation” was changed.

What signs will be added in 2022

Most likely there will be a sign indicating the drivers of SIM – means of individual mobility. That is, electric scooters, electric rollers, segways, unicycles, etc. Perhaps ordinary scooters and skateboards will also be included there. But mainly the sign should separate the flows of pedestrians, electric bikers and motorists. To update the signs in 2022, officials and the traffic police are pushing a fair number of accidents involving electric scooters and similar mobility aids.
