Where are the flu vaccines?
“Let’s vaccinate ourselves with the flu” – this was the message we received from experts, doctors and politicians. Vaccination, especially now during a pandemic, is very important. Many people took the recommendations to heart and as soon as vaccines appeared in pharmacies, they tried to “hunt them” – this word describes the effort it took to get the vaccine. In September and early October, when vaccines began appearing in pharmacies, there were also reports that obtaining a vaccine is almost a miracle.

Unfortunately, it may turn out that in the near future, obtaining the VaxigripTextra flu vaccine, which is to have a new reimbursement indication from November, will be even more difficult. Sanofi Pasteur, which is responsible for the distribution of this vaccine in Poland, announced that, according to the plan, it has already delivered 1 million out of 1 million 200 thousand to the Polish market. planned doses. This means that only 200 more will enter the market. subsequent doses. Given how much interest there is in the vaccine, this number may not be enough.
