The Ministry of Health has published an up-to-date list of drugs at risk of non-availability. The so-called the anti-export list has almost 300 items. This is a dozen or so less than the previous one, which included 312 products.

New anti-export list

The anti-export list includes medicinal products, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices at risk of unavailability on the territory of the Republic of Poland. The list is updated from time to time, some items are deleted and new ones appear in their place.

The new list has 298 items. This is much less than the previous ones, especially those from the beginning of the pandemic in Poland, with well over 1000 items. At that time, they also included painkillers, antiviral and antipyretic drugs, as well as medical devices necessary to fight the spreading coronavirus – masks, gowns, and pads.

The anti-export list includes, among others insulin used in patients with diabetes, bronchial asthma, as well as anticoagulants, such as Clexane and drugs used in the treatment of immunodeficiency. All doses of Euthyrox N and Letrox are still at risk of being exported – these are drugs used in people with thyroid disorders.

The list also includes drugs whose active ingredient is metformin – Avamina SR, Glucophage XR, Metformax SR 500 and Symformin XR.

The anti-export list includes those medical devices that are missing in 5 percent. pharmacies in a given province. Information on deficiencies is reported by voivodeship pharmaceutical inspectors to the chief inspector. This informs the minister of health.
