Thanks to the original texture and unusual purple hue for furniture, the old wooden cabinet has become one of the dominant colors of the interior.
As conceived by the decorator, the surface of the cabinet should resemble sparkling sea foam. Therefore, it was decided to use the coating “Foam” (“MaxMaster”, Russia).
For work you needed: thinner, grinder, Capillaire acrylic primer, La Base acrylic paint-primer, Boreale100 pearl varnish (all – “MaxMaster”), brush, paint spray, sea sponge.
- The old paint layer was removed with a solvent. The cabinet surface was then cleaned and leveled with a sander.
- Cracks and small defects were putty, after which the surface was impregnated in several layers with a special primer.
- The color of the cabinet was given by applying paint-primer with a spray gun. After 2–4 hours, the surface was covered with another layer of paint-primer.
- The surface has acquired a pearlescent luster due to the varnish applied by a spray gun. Then, using a paint-primer diluted with water, the cabinet was treated with a sponge. A day later, the furniture was ready for use.
