Patients with hepatitis B virus from March will be able to use more effective drugs – informs Gazeta Wyborcza.
The Ministry of Health has published a draft of a new list of reimbursed drugs, which is to apply from March 1. The biggest change concerns medications for patients with hepatitis B.
Entecavir and tenofovir will be reimbursed for new patients diagnosed with the disease. Both drugs are more effective than the lamivudine used so far.
According to patients, it was even harmful, because 80 percent. patients who received it, the virus mutated and became resistant to the treatment. (PAP)
