Apple held its traditional spring presentation, despite all the difficulties with the pandemic, though in a video format. There are plenty of reasons to brag about new products from developers from the USA – a changed design of devices, a complete transition to their own processors, new headphones, laptops and stationary PCs. We show what the new iMac 2021 has become.
Price iMac 2021 in Our Country
During the official presentation at Apple, the current prices for the new iMac 2021 in Our Country became known. As previously suggested, the cost of computers will start from 129 990 rubles for the most basic version with an 8-core processor, 7-core video chip, 256 gigabytes of internal memory and 8 gigabytes of RAM, without a Gigabit Ethernet port.
A model with a built-in network card, an 8-core video chip, bright body colors and additional USB ports and a keyboard with Touch ID will cost 149 990rubles.
Finally, the most advanced version will cost 169 990 rubles – it will have 512 gigabytes of internal memory.

iMac 2021 release date in Our Country
The iMac 2021 was first shown to the public at a presentation on April 20. You can pre-order the computer from April 30th. According to official information from Apple representatives in Our Country, they will appear on free sale in mid-May.

Screen
Insiders were right in the rumors that Apple decided to change the design of the new iMac 2021 by reducing the bezels of the computer display. The screen diagonal of the new stationary “poppy” has grown by a couple of inches without changing the size of the device itself. Because of this, the design of the new generation of computers is similar in appearance to the expensive Pro Display XDR monitor.
The macworld.co.uk portal assumed that the minimum screen size of the new generation iMac 2021 would grow from 21.5 to 24 inches and turned out to be right. Despite the predictions of insiders, Apple decided not to increase the screen size to 30 inches, even in top models. The screen resolution will become unusual – 4.5K. It exceeds the already familiar 4K, but still falls short of 6K in the premium Apple Pro Display XDR monitor. The thickness of the display case is only 11.5 mm – this is a real record among all monoblocks.
Housing and keyboard
As we said above, the new “Mac” received thin screen bezels. The design was brought in line with the new Apple standards, making it flatter.
The rumors never came true – Apple decided not to return to using the iMac hinge system. But the new iMac 2021 has five colors at once: blue, green, red, gray, gold, orange and purple. Designer Daniel Bautista on the Behance website showed what the computer looks like in new colors.
Included with the most affordable version of the computer will come wireless keyboard Magic Keyboard. In more advanced packages, buyers will find a Magic Keyboard with a fingerprint scanner, a Magic Mouse 2, and a Magic Trackpad 2 trackpad.
Processor, memory, interfaces
The main change in this version of iMac is the final transition of the system to fast SSD solid state drives. In the simplest configuration, 256 gigabytes of memory are installed in the desktop system, and 512 gigabytes in the maximum.
The powerful M1 processor is responsible for the operation of the entire system. Apple said that it works 85% faster than its counterpart in the previous version of the computer. The same “stone” is also responsible for the operation of graphics – the performance of the video core will increase by 50%.
Also, the American manufacturer emphasizes that iMac 2021 will work with Apple mobile applications due to a similar line of M1 processors.
All iMac 2021 models come with just 8GB of DDR4 RAM. This is unforgivably small for high-quality work with modern programs, but Apple engineers decided that this would be enough for a new computer.
Meanwhile, Chinese technicians note that it will be possible to change the RAM and internal storage on the M1 chip – they successfully conducted a similar experiment. Nevertheless, you should not rejoice ahead of time: ordinary users are unlikely to be able to do such an operation and will require the involvement of an electronics specialist. Of course, the warranty on the purchased device will also become void.
The set of interfaces remained standard – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, two USB-A ports, four USB-C with Thunderbolt support and an SD card reader. The magnetic power cable connects to the iMac 2021 via the MagSafe interface.
