Have you tried running in the snow without running shoes? The Finns insist: it is much more useful and effective than in shoes.
Finnish amateur runner, helicopter pilot Pekka Pervianen spoke about a new fitness trend – running in the snow in just socks. He claims that this type of training gives him an unprecedented sense of freedom. He and his companions, who support the trend, run in deep snow without shoes. This, in their opinion, allows you to keep in great shape without buying gym memberships.
“This kind of training is a kind of Finnish tradition,” says Parvianen, who likes to run barefoot and in the warm season. He assures that running in the snow makes him happy, especially emphasizing the charm of the feeling of the contact of the feet with the snow.
Parvianen notes that runners can choose the depth of snow they plan to run on. He also advises wearing two or three pairs of woolen socks if you decide to join the movement.
Many sports fans not only in Finland but also around the world have noticed the fashionable innovation. Some, however, still consider this type of physical activity too extreme, others try, but not everyone succeeds.
With or without shoes, sports training, along with hardening, has a positive effect not only on physical but also on mental health, as it shifts attention to the body, helps to live in the moment, clear your head, and distract from painful thoughts. Even a 10-minute workout in the morning can keep you energized throughout the day, so do the sport that suits you. And, of course, do not forget about socks: they should be not only beautiful, but also comfortable. Who knows: suddenly you will be inspired by the experience of Finnish runners and throw off your shoes in the middle of the capital’s park.
