Every third patient consults with doctors in messengers, however, health workers admit: after some messages, they want to send the number to the blacklist.

Largest Doctor Review Site “ProDoctors” conducted a survey among its users and found that 35% of patients consult their doctors using instant messengers and social networks, and 89% of them are women. Most often, they seek advice from pediatric therapists, gynecologists and dermatologists.

This type of communication became especially relevant during the period of self-isolation. Many issues can be resolved in just a minute, but, unfortunately, patients sometimes abuse this opportunity, so ProDoktorov turned to doctors who are ambassadors of the service to tell them how to make such communication effective and comfortable.

ProDoctors’ ambassadors are doctors who share the values of the project and support it: they work with reviews on the site and advocate effective communication between doctor and patient.

Kirill Krylov, surgeon-gynecologist, candidate of medical sciences, ambassador of the site “ProDoctors”, St. Petersburg

“Make sure the doctor doesn’t mind communicating in the mail or messenger. It is better to stipulate which communication channel is preferable during a face-to-face appointment. Except in emergencies or as previously agreed, do not write to your doctor after hours. “

Kristina Ivanova, ophthalmologist, ambassador of the ProDoctors website, St. Petersburg

“If you prefer to communicate using voice messages, check with your doctor if this format is convenient for him (in most cases, doctors do not have time to listen to such messages). For example, if you report on medications you are taking or chronic diseases, it is better to send this information in text. But there are times when voice messages are appropriate, for example, the doctor can listen to the sound of your cough. ”

Maxim Kotov, surgeon-oncologist, ambassador of the site “ProDoctors”, St. Petersburg

“When you first contact a doctor via e-mail or messenger, be sure to check with the doctor if he is ready to use this communication channel. After obtaining consent, introduce yourself and briefly describe your problem (diagnosis, previous diagnosis and treatment) and write the questions that you would like to receive answers to.

If you have the results of diagnostic studies and doctors’ opinions, including discharge epicrisis, send them in high quality, do not turn the photo. Before sending, be sure to ask the doctor for permission to send them and ask what data he is interested in first of all, so as not to overload the doctor with information. If any data is required, doctors themselves report it. “

And finally, the advice that all doctors mentioned: do not hesitate to ask questions, even if they seem silly to you.
