The British variant is more than 50-70 percent more contagious. than in the case of the basic one, it is also said to be 60 percent. higher mortality, although not all studies support this thesis. However, when it comes to its resistance to currently used vaccines, it is only slightly higher.
Indian variant (B.1.617) It was first discovered in December 2021, but it wasn’t until March that it didn’t get more attention from experts. It has, among others mutations E484Q, L452R i P681R, the former is also available in Brazilian and South African variants, the latter in Californian. B.1.617 in India had already displaced the dominant British variant and caused an unprecedented wave of infections. It is also starting to dominate the UK. Britain, some time ago it was also discovered in Poland.
The Indian variant is more infectious than basic, and is considered “escape” from current vaccines, but there is no evidence yet of a higher mortality rate.
