PSYchology

Neurasthenic is a kind of asthenic in the typology of P.B. Ganushkin.

If “just asthenics” quickly get tired, insecure and suspicious, then some more somatic disorders are added here: a person complains of recurrent discomfort, pain, tingling, poor bowel function, poor sleep, increased heartbeat, etc. (see Hypochondria ). All these malfunctions in the functioning of the body are of a psychogenic nature; as a rule, there is no noticeable organic basis for them. They arise due to too much attention of the neurasthenic to the work of his body. Anxiously and suspiciously feeling into the processes taking place “inside”, he upsets them even more.
