Someone may say that the Neptun Smart Tuya system is a repetition of Neptun Smart +, but still not quite right. The main components included in the water breakthrough kit have remained unchanged, but a new element has been added – Tuya extension module.
The module serves to integrate the Neptun Smart+ system into the Tuya cloud service and control the system with the Tuya Smart mobile application.
Tuya (Tuya) is an IoT platform – internet of things – the Internet of things, an ecosystem for connecting smart devices equipped with built-in technologies for interacting with each other or with the external environment.
But Tuya Smart is not available in the App Store and Google Play in Russia, but it can be downloaded as a separate file with the “apk” extension for installation on mobile devices.
To install on a computer, an android emulator for PC with the “apk” extension is downloaded and the program is installed.
Instead of Tuya Smart, the App Store and Google Play services offer the installation of the Smart Life – Smart Living application.
“Smart Life – Smart Living” is a twin of Tuya Smart and it is recommended for installation. Next, we will look at the difference between them.
Tuya and Smart Life are compatible with systems:
- Neptun Smart+.
- Neptun Smart.
Together with the main application, install one of the programs: Alexa, Ya. Alice, Google Assistant, Apple Siri (for iPhone). The virtual voice assistant will allow you to use voice commands.
For each program you need to create an account. Only one of the programs can control the equipment. It is not recommended to manage the system simultaneously from two applications.
Tuya Smart или Smart Life – Smart Living
The main difference in applications that catches the eye is the color, otherwise “Smart Life – Smart Living” is a copy of Tuya. Why do we need a double of the popular program? It’s simple, Tuya is the main version of the platform, with a standard set of device management tools.
The Smart Life – Smart Living app is more versatile and has additional features. They are provided by the IFTTT function (IF This, Then That – if this, then this), which can create a chain of conditions.
In practice, it will look like this – if the 3rd sensor is triggered, then you need to close the first group of taps. That is, the adjustment of the system from leaks will be more accurate. Why turn off the water in the whole house, if it is enough to turn off the bathroom faucet.

Connecting the Neptun Tuya module to a smartphone via Wi-Fi can be done in one of two modes – EZ or AP.
Connection in EZ mode is called simple, and the connection of the main module of the Neptune and the smartphone occurs through a router (router). This happens, for example, when due to poor Wi-Fi connection, the Ethernet board is installed and the Neptune control unit is connected to the router with a network cable. In this case, the wireless sensors communicate with the control unit via a router.
Connecting in AP mode means that the Neptun leak protection module will work as an access point.

The Tuya expansion module is installed in any of the slots. The device is connected via Wi-Fi with a frequency of 2.4 GHz to a router to access the Internet. This makes it possible to control the Neptun Smart leakage protection system using a smartphone with any OS – Android or iOS, through the Tuya Smart or Smart Life application. Neptun equipment can be added to existing devices in Tuya-based smart home control, or you can create your own ecosystem from the devices you connected based on this service.

If it is impossible to connect to the router via a Wi-Fi network, you can connect via an Ethernet expansion board.
When using the Ethernet expansion module, the connection to the Neptun Smart+ unit via Wi-Fi is blocked.
Wireless Sensor Module
In the basic configuration of Neptun Tuya, only wired sensors can be connected. If the installation of the wire system around the apartment is difficult, then you should purchase an expansion board with wireless sensors.
RS-485 block
The RS-485 expansion module is intended for connection to automated control systems operating via the MODBUS RTU protocol. Data transfer rate from 1,2 kbps to 921,6 kbps, no parity.
Meter expansion board
2 counters are connected to the module. Water consumption readings are read from metering devices and stored in non-volatile memory. Meter data is updated every 10 minutes.

Increase in the number of taps

The Neptun Tuya basic system is compatible with ball valves:
