Mistakes are inevitable in life, and beating yourself up for them is unproductive (see Reactions to Mistakes). It is more important to support yourself, think about what happened and make a decision that will help you avoid such mistakes in the future. In general, it is more important to accustom yourself to live and develop on positive motivation. See Personal development on the positive
Nevertheless, negative reinforcement of your mistakes is a fairly effective method of working on yourself. It is more effective for people who are mentally healthy, with high self-esteem, and is not recommended for people with low self-esteem, people with a neurotic background.
Negative reinforcement of your life mistakes
If you made a mistake — don’t worry, but immediately (if possible) go and correct it.

For example, if you want to get rid of constant accusations in your speech, you can use the following technique:
- Make a list of your typical phrases — everyday accusations (Until when … How could you? Because of you … etc.), print it on A4 sheet in large print and hang it at home in a conspicuous place.
- Ask your loved ones to tell you when you forget and they hear these phrases from you. When prompted, do (for example) 10 squats, thank, and apologize to the one in whose direction you used these reproaches. Repeat your appeal with the correct wording, in the form of a request.
