Nebulizers – types, application, nebulizers for children

When autumn comes, the temperature drops, the air is cold and damp, and the period of colds begins. Not all ailments should be treated with antibiotics, syrups or tablets. Often nebulization is enough, so nebulizers should be in every home. Anyone can use them: newborns and infants, children, adults and the elderly. Everything, of course, as recommended by the doctor. How to choose the perfect nebulizer for our family? It’s time to start the search.

Nebulizers and their application

A nebulizer is very often mistakenly called an inhaler. An inhaler is a device that is used to deliver medication together with a person’s breath, for example in asthma. The nebulizer, on the other hand, is used to spray the drug, very often simply saline, in the form of a mist, which the patient inhales with a mask or mouthpiece. Nowadays, during the heating season, our homes have very dry air, which contributes to the pathological drying of the upper respiratory tract mucosa. As a consequence, it is easier to get infections. Therefore, regular use of nebulization can protect us against numerous diseases of the respiratory tract.

What are the types of nebulizers?

We have thousands of models of nebulizers available on the market. What should we consider when shopping to choose the right type of nebulizer? The first criterion is the price. It can range from 100 to even 1000 PLN. If finances are a problem, it is worth knowing that some medical institutions rent these devices. Consider also the continuous operation time of the nebulizer. It will be minimum 3 to 5 hours, maximum – XNUMX hours. The loudness of the camera and its size are other parameters to consider when shopping. If we order a nebulizer online, let’s put the parts that wear out into the basket. Shops or online pharmacies often offer additional filters, hoses of different lengths, plastic tubes that are often damaged, mouthpieces and masks. We will save ourselves worries if it turns out that a defective element prevents us from carrying out the necessary treatment.

Nebulizers for children

Sooner or later in our child’s life there will be a runny nose, cough or bronchial problems. Modern drugs can also take the form of an aerosol more and more often. Standard nebulizers have two sizes of masks and mouthpieces. However, it often turns out that those intended for children are too big or simply unattractive for a toddler. The child is frightened by the noise, strange tubes associated with a clinic or hospital. Fortunately, we have special nebulizers for children. They can be of various shapes and colors, and some of them even glow. Children treat them as toys to help them recover. With a penguin or a dog nebulizer, it is easier to survive the difficult moments of taking the drug.

We should not wait until the disease occurs with the purchase of a nebulizer. It may then turn out that we will be doomed to buy a poor-quality device at a high price. A good nebulizer will serve the whole family for several years. However, we should remember about its cleaning and maintenance. Replacing filters or masks guarantees the highest level of hygiene of use. And if Christmas or a birthday is approaching, why not consider buying a nebuliser as a practical gift? The gifted person will surely be pleased.
