Inflammation, coughing, itching and other sore throats can be treated with natural remedies, hot drinks, gargles, syrups, concocts from foods or medicinal plants.

Hot drinks and gargles for sore throats

Different foods and natural ingredients that are easily found in the supermarket are good ingredients for making hot drinks known to relieve sore throats.

Hot lemon drink

One of the most effective home remedies for reducing the intensity of sore throats is the drink made from lemon, hot water and honey. You just need to mix the juice of half a lemon and a teaspoon (= teaspoon) of honey in 250 ml of hot water. The flavonoids, antioxidant components, in lemon will work to reduce inflammation in the throat. Much like lemon, honey has anti-inflammatory properties. It also has an antibacterial effect due to its low pH, texture and low protein concentration.

Salt gargle

Gargling with salt is a simple solution to repeat several times a day as needed. It takes 1 teaspoon (= teaspoon) of salt for 250 ml of boiling water. Once the mixture has cooled, it can be used every 2-3 hours. Salt has antibacterial activity, which will limit the proliferation of bacteria that cause sore throats.

Gargarisme au bicarbonate de soude

An alternative to the traditional salt gargle is baking soda. Like salt, this product helps kill bacteria and is safe for your health. It can even be added to the daily oral hygiene routine.
