Natural aphrodisiacs
Do you want to spice up your sex life by using natural aphrodisiacs? These substances, derived from plants, spices or contained in food, are known to increase sexual desire. What are the best aphrodisiacs and how to use them?
What is an aphrodisiac?
An aphrodisiac is a substance that has the particularity of stimulating a person’s desire when ingested. We speak of a natural aphrodisiac when it is a substance of plant or animal origin: plant, food, essential oil, etc. Certain aphrodisiacs are reputed to stimulate and arouse sexual pleasure, but are in fact unfounded myths. In fact, some spices are said to be aphrodisiacs, but this effect is only present if we consume it in large quantities. Finally, there are aphrodisiacs specific to each, insofar as we are all excited by different elements.
Are there female and male aphrodisiacs?
The aphrodisiac power of a substance is not the same for everyone. Although there is no difference based on gender, no one reacts the same to stimuli from a plant or food. On the other hand, the circuit of sexual desire, of carnal stimulation by means of a smell, a sensation, a taste, etc. and that of sexual arousal is the same in men as in women. In fact, there are elements which make it possible to arouse this sexual arousal, and to put the subject in a context conducive to sexual activities, which we can call an aphrodisiac substance, and which vary from person to person, both men and women.
Foods That Increase Sexual Desire
There are certain foods which, when consumed in large quantities, would have a “boost” effect on sexual desire. This is particularly the case with chocolate, which contains a substance similar to caffeine, and triggers the secretion of dopamine. It is this same hormone that participates in the sensation of pleasure during orgasm. For its part, garlic, an excellent stimulant for the body and good for the circulation of the blood, promotes the maintenance of the erection, and can therefore be considered an aphrodisiac in the sense that it participates in sexual pleasure. Finally, foods rich in zinc, such as oysters, cocoa, nuts or lentils, help men get better erections.
What plants and essential oils have an aphrodisiac power?
As we have seen, there are many suspected aphrodisiacs on the side of spices, roots and plants. This is particularly the case with ginger, but also cinnamon, cloves, vanilla or saffron. Vanilla, thanks to a euphoric effect, also has an invigorating effect, beneficial for the maintenance of erections. Bandaged wood, a grating spice like ginger or cinnamon, is also known to be an excellent aphrodisiac. As for essential oils, ylang ylang is to be remembered for its scent which stimulates sexual desire, and its captivating top note.
The best alcohol-based aphrodisiac cocktails
Alcohol is classified as an aphrodisiac. Do you want to make a cocktail with a powerful aphrodisiac power? Mix alcohol and ginger! This is particularly the case of cocktails prepared with ginger beer, a soft drink with a sweet and slightly spicy taste. There are also chili cocktails, to add spice to a night out! Finally, some planters can be embellished with vanilla and cinnamon, for a not insignificant euphoric effect during carnal sessions! Be careful though, in high doses, alcohol can prevent enjoyment, in both men and women.
Can you make your own aphrodisiacs?
It is possible to use plants, roots, foods or essential and vegetable oils at home. Be careful though, plant extracts, when they are pure (this is the case of essential oils) are extremely powerful because they are concentrated, and should be used sparingly. These oils are also for some not recommended for pregnant women. However, you can use a few drops, including ylang-ylang essential oil, to add them to a vegetable oil that will act as massage oil, such as coconut or jojoba oil, to perfume yourself with it, or integrate them into a room fragrance to diffuse.
