Urology Week is an action organized by the European Society of Urology. For several years, the action has also been joined by the Polish Society of Urology. The action this year takes place on September 23-27. This year, the main topics discussed during the campaign are: diseases of the prostate gland and urolithiasis.
The aim of the action is the prevention and early diagnosis of diseases of the prostate gland and urolithiasis. Our goal is to convince men of all ages that examination by a urologist, even in the absence of symptoms from the genitourinary system, is necessary and that it is necessary to develop a habit of periodic prophylactic examinations in men.
– Through this action, we would like men to understand that just as their car requires an annual inspection, they also need to take care of their prostate gland inspection and there is nothing embarrassing or painful about it – emphasizes prof. Zbigniew Wolski President of the Polish Society of Urology.
As part of the Urology Week campaign, a special information and educational website for patients was prepared on the website www.tydzienurologii.pl. The website contains information on prostate diseases, urolithiasis, risk factors, the course of a visit to the urologist and many other valuable information.
With the start of the Urology Week, a social campaign is starting all over Poland, which allows for free prophylactic examinations of the prostate gland, which will last until the end of November. The next edition of free urological tests this year is held under the slogan Review is a man’s thing.
More information and details of the locations where the tests will take place can be found on the website www.tydzienurologii.pl and on promotional materials distributed in selected clinics in Poland.
In recent years, thanks to the involvement of urologists from all over Poland, more than 4000 patients were examined for free as part of the campaign.
