National Wine Day of Moldova
 

So, apparently, the Most High ordered that on a small piece of land on which Moldova is located, the tone of all life was set by the vine. Wine in Moldova is more than wine. This is an unconditional symbol of the republic, which on the map, in fact, resembles a bunch of grapes.

Winemaking is in the genes of Moldovans. There is a winery in every courtyard, and every Moldovan is a gourmet.

As a recognition of the importance of winemaking in 2002, the “National Wine Day”, Which takes place on the first weekend of October and under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Moldova.

The festival opens with a parade of winemakers – a bright and colorful spectacle, including musical and choreographic compositions.

 

Several dozen wine producers come from the hills of Moldovan vineyards right in the heart of Chisinau to present the treasure and traditions of Moldovan winemaking.

At Moldexpo there are many different drinking, snack and entertainment events. For two days, residents and guests of the capital are entertained by art groups.

The holiday is ending big chorus – a Moldovan dance that unites everyone, an indispensable condition for the dance is the woven hands of the dancers. The central square of Chisinau is convenient for such a collective dance – there is enough space for everyone.

The final multicolored “point” of the closing event is fireworks.

Dedicated to the National Day of Wine, the Wine Festival is intended to revive and enhance the culture of viticulture and winemaking, show national traditions of priority sectors of the economy, maintain the prestige of wine products, and also attract foreign tourists with its rich and colorful program.

In 2003, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted a law that establishes a preferential visa regime for foreign citizens, with the issuance of free entry (exit) visas for a 15-day period (7 days before and 7 days after the celebration), on the occasion of the National Day of Wine.
