The 2020 National Health Test of Poles, organized by the Medonet editorial team in cooperation with specialists from various fields of medicine, showed how Poles care about health and well-being, what their attitude towards preventive examinations is and what else they could change for the better to live a healthy life.
The average Health Index for the respondents was 61,9 percent. After completing the survey, each participant received individual advice on how to improve their health and well-being, and what preventive examinations should be performed.
An individual Health Index was calculated for everyone who completed the questionnaire. This indicator shows how the actions declared by the respondents related to disease prevention and healthy lifestyle fit the recommendations of specialists. The Health Index, given as a percentage, informs about the extent to which the respondents comply with the preventive recommendations.
One of the weight and height questions was used to calculate BMI, a body mass index that is used to determine the correct body weight. As it turned out? 61 percent Poles have a problem with excessive body weight (74% men and 50% women) .46% men and 29 percent. women are overweight, and 28 percent. men and 21 women are obese.
