Natakhtari is one of the most famous beer brands in Georgia, which emerged in the early 90s of the last century. The most important features of the plant, located 30 km from Tbilisi, are the use of the purest spring water, modern brewing technologies, and classic recipes for the production of a hop drink.
Currently, the company’s share in the Georgian market exceeds 50%, and the brewery itself belongs to one of the largest beer producers – Efes Breweries International. In addition to several of its own varieties of Natakhtari, the plant produces beer Mtieli, Kaizer, Efes, Herrenhauser, Velkopopovetsky Kozel and nine types of sweet soft drinks. The company’s products are supplied to two dozen countries.
Historical information
The history of “Natakhtari” began in 1991 with a small brewery in the village of Akhalgori. Relative proximity to the capital and clean environment contributed to the increase in production and popularity of the company. In 2005, Lomisi Joint-Stock Company, using attracted investments, built a modern Natakhtari brewery, which soon became the leader in the Georgian market of low-alcohol drinks.
Three years later, the manufacturer attracted the attention of one of the giants of world brewing – EBI, which bought out 2008% of Natakhtari’s shares in 100. Since that time, the possibilities for further upgrading of production capacities and increasing the range of products have significantly expanded. Already in 2010-2011, Zemann beer production equipment and a Krones bottling line were installed at the plant. In the same period, the company introduced a quality management system in the food industry ISO 9001: 2008.
In 2012, Natakhtari started producing licensed canned and bottled beer Kaiser with quality control of the product by the German side. In the next two years, the factory laboratory was certified in accordance with the requirements of ISO / IEC 17025, certificates of energy management systems (ISO 50001) and food safety management in the food industry (ISO 22000: 2005) were obtained. The company was actively involved in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, being a sponsor of the Georgian football, basketball and rugby federations.
Types of beer “Natakhtari”
«Natakhtari», 5%
The most famous variety, which has been produced since 2005 and has become the hallmark of the company of the same name. Beer is brewed according to the classic recipe from hops, malt and water without the use of additional ingredients. The drink is characterized by a light golden color and a dense, stable foam cap. The taste is soft malty with hints of hops and hints of honey and caramel.
Natakhtari Kasris, 5,2%
A lively golden beer that has been bottled since 2009. The foam is quite stable, cream-colored. The taste is oily-malty with a bitter aftertaste. The drink has a high carbonation, refreshes well.
Natakhtari Extra, 8%
A strong beer with an original wort extract of 17,2%. Golden drink with low foam. Fruity and caramel notes in the aroma. The taste is sweetish with a hint of green apple and barely perceptible bitterness.
Natakhtari 34, 4,7%
A special hoppy drink, the numbers in the name of which mean that the beer is brewed from three types of barley malt and four varieties of hops. Produced since 2015. Hops and faint herbal notes are perceptible in the aroma. The taste is predominantly malty with a slight hop bitterness, without foreign aftertastes.
Karva, 4,5%
Refreshing light amber beer with abundant white foam, brewed since 2009. Bready-malty aroma with a hint of hops. The taste is balanced, which combines moderate sweetness, slight sourness and a distinct bitterness of hops, remaining in the aftertaste.
