😉 Greetings to regular readers and visitors of the site! Gentlemen, in the article “Napoleon’s Syndrome: Tips for People with Short Stature” you will find useful information and videos.
Napoleon complex in men and women
“Napoleon’s syndrome” or “Napoleon’s complex” is a set of psychological characteristics inherent in people of small stature. It is characterized by an aggressive demeanor that compensates for the lack of growth.
Napoleon’s syndrome is the desire of short men to achieve fame and fortune. Psychologist Alfred Adler was the first to define this concept. Why did he choose Napoleon?
Probably because the great commander is a vivid example of an energetic, purposeful person with a height of 168 cm.
History knows many more cases when undersized men achieved career success and world recognition. They wanted to compensate for the missing centimeters with personal achievements. Even in adolescence, such people suffer from the ridicule of their peers and the inattention of girls.
It seems to them that everyone around them is looking at them with disdain. That is why the “short ones” are trying to prove that they are better than others. They show self-confidence and aggression, and often cruelty.
Where tall guys can “hook” with their height and beautiful figure, teenagers with a Napoleonic complex resort to other qualities.
Note that Napoleon’s syndrome inherently involves the demonstration of strength, not intelligence. Such historical figures as Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mussolini – all were below 165 cm. This does not mean that short stature automatically makes a person a potential tyrant. But the pattern is obvious.
The Napoleon complex extends to women as well. The height of Queen Victoria of England was only 152 cm. And the world famous model Eva Longoria conquered the catwalk with only 155 cm! Empress Catherine II’s height is only 157 cm, Mother Teresa’s is 152 cm.
In the literature, you can find the attachment of the Napoleonic complex to other defects in appearance – facial asymmetry, ugliness …
People who do not fit the accepted criteria of beauty suffer from loneliness and humiliation. They often become embittered with all of humanity. Unfortunately, they do not direct their energy into a useful channel, but use it for revenge.
Tips for people with short stature:
- love yourself for your personality. Don’t try to be like anyone or everyone. Perhaps, in the eyes of other people, you do not look funny, but, on the contrary, cute;
- wear clothes with vertical stripes, this visually “stretches” the figure;
- control your weight. The overweight person seems even shorter;
- do not slouch;
- if you are a woman, wear a small heel.
Usually short men like tall, slender women. And they often reciprocate, since the fair sex in men appreciate not only growth and beauty, but also confidence and courage. For example, Pushkin and Goncharova (he is 166,7 cm, she is 173 cm).
Many “model” beauties see such men as a reliable life support and financial prosperity. What a sin to conceal, let’s face it – it’s not a person, but his money. From the outside, such a couple may look ridiculous, because it is natural if a woman is shorter than a man.
If women suffer from their miniature forms, this indicates their tendency to rebellion and masculine traits. They protest against the guardianship of the stronger sex and strive to show that they are independent in everything.
In the case of both men and women, such behavior indicates mental disharmony, it is unnatural. You should learn to value your unique nature, and not at any cost to comply with the standards of society.
