Naked or smart?

A naked person is perceived by us as more vulnerable and … less smart? In any case, these are the data of recent studies by scientists from the University of Maryland.

Looking at a woman who takes off her clothes, a man is unlikely to evaluate her intelligence. Stereotype? The results of six studies by psychologist Kurt Gray (Kurt Gray) from the University of Maryland (USA) confirm that even pulling off her sweater and showing a small area of bare skin, a woman provokes others to lower their assessment of her intelligence *. There is also unexpected news – this effect also applies to the male body! And yet another paradoxical result: the participants in the experiment (both sexes) were more likely to refuse to hurt a man without a T-shirt than dressed. Apparently, focusing on the body sharpens our ability to empathize. A naked person is perceived by us as more vulnerable, and we involuntarily have a desire to protect him.
