Nail polish bubbles: what to do? Video

Bubbles on nail polish can ruin even the most flawless manicure. This annoying little thing may not become obvious immediately, but only after the coating has dried. There are several ways to prevent bubbles from appearing, and if they do, get rid of them quickly.

Bubbles on the nails: how to get rid of?

Reasons for the appearance of bubbles

It is not always possible to predict whether your manicure will turn out to be successful or not. Even if you do everything correctly, clearly and evenly, after drying your nails, you may find ugly bubbles on the coating, with which there can be no question of aesthetics. Moreover, this problem can affect both cheap and luxury varnishes. Moreover, the same product often behaves differently depending on external conditions.

The reasons can be several:

  • conflict of base, color and top coating
  • high air humidity
  • getting air into the bottle
  • improper shaking of varnish
  • thickening of any of the coatings
  • too thick varnish
  • uneven or poorly degreased nail surface

The main rule to avoid the appearance of bubbles is to apply a thin layer of each layer. Even if the consistency of the varnish allows you to lay it without streaks and bald spots in one layer, do two or three. You must dry each layer so that it can be easily traced with any object without leaving a trace.

During manicure, close the varnish bottle while painting the nail so that no air gets into it.

Of course, this whole process will take a lot of time, but if you really like the chosen whimsical shade, you will have to endure.

Try not to paint your nails in a draft, as this can also lead to bubbles on the coating. Do not apply special dryers for varnish either immediately, let the previous layer grab: only in this case you can avoid a conflict between the top and the main coating, which often leads to the formation of bubbles.

Bubble Removal Techniques

If you see that the varnish dries up, and bubbles appear in the process, use a high-quality drying. For example, Orly’s Sec’n’Dry or IHM’s Out the Door. These products can tighten the varnish a little, but they are good at neutralizing bubbles.

Sometimes the varnish is already bubbling during application. Immediately pierce the bubbles with a needle, and after drying, smooth the surface with another layer of varnish

And finally, there are special tools that help fix all sorts of flaws – from pronounced bubbles to oiled varnish. Corrector irregularities (smudge corrector) is not in every brand. Try Avon’s budget and well-proven Smudge Nail Polish Corrector, or the rarer but highly effective ProFix Smudge Corrector from ProStrong. These and similar products slightly dissolve the top coat of the varnish, after which it self-leveling and hardens again.
