A good manicure will last for two weeks … or as long as you wish, if done correctly.
Going on vacation to the sea or going to relax in a country house outside the city, we know for sure that we will not be able to keep the perfect manicure. Therefore, we stock up on transparent varnishes (the nails will shine and will be imperceptible when the varnish begins to wear off). But this does not mean that you need to forget about bright varnishes and beautiful nails. A manicure can be sustainable, you just need to do it.
Lacquer in hand!
Perform your manicure in good lighting. Be sure to remove any old polish before you start.
Use a nail file to shape your nails into an oval shape.
For hard nails, sand or sapphire files are suitable, for fragile nails – a file with fine grinding grains. A ceramic nail file is suitable for any nails, but it is better not to spoil your nails with iron files. In terms of size, short or medium length nails are preferred this season.
Cuticle removal can be done easily without using tweezers. Just apply a few drops of the remover cuticle, wait a few seconds and when it softens, remove it with an orange stick. With a light circular motion, remove the residue and slide the skin towards the base of the nail.
To keep the nails smooth and shiny, lightly sand them with a special buff (polishing file).
Lubricate hands and nails with a little cream and massage to improve blood circulation. Remove the remains of the cream with a napkin.
Apply the varnish starting from the little finger. Run a wide strip down the center of your nail from base to tip. Then paint over the edges of the nail with two firm strokes. Remove excess varnish with a brush. Let the first coat dry before applying the second coat (if you want a richer color). If polish accidentally comes into contact with the skin outside of the nail, after it dries, soak a cotton swab in nail polish remover and carefully remove the excess.
Masters advise to apply varnish first on the right hand, then on the left if you are doing the manicure yourself. It is very important to apply polish on the base, since the varnish itself corrodes the nail, and stains and stripes remain on it.
Focus on hands
The main enemy of persistent manicure is the exfoliating nail plate. In order for the nails to look healthy and not exfoliate, they need to be moisturized and nourished with special gels and oils. It is especially useful to apply all these oils after polishing, when the surface of the nail absorbs the active substances better.
To avoid wasting time on an hour-long procedure, correct your manicure about once every two weeks. This can be done in 5 minutes. Apply peeling to wet hands (you can do this even while taking a shower); Apply oil or cream to the cuticle to remove it and slightly move the cuticle with an orange stick. Soon you won’t have to remove it at all, it will grow back slowly and look neat.
Use the most gentle liquid to remove nail polish. Do not forget that nails periodically need a break from varnish, even of the highest quality. Use medicated varnish.
Well done, holding on!
In order for the nail polish to last as long as possible, you need to prepare the surface of the nail – it must be smooth and clean. Before applying the varnish, coat it with a leveling agent and vitamins. Then apply a base – a transparent varnish, the colored varnish will fit on it much better than just on a clean nail. If there are any irregularities on the nails, choose a base for varnish with quartz, it will fill in the irregularities and make the surface smooth. The main color varnish should be applied in two layers – the time interval between application should be at least 2-3 minutes. Finally, apply another coat of clear fixer varnish and renew it every day.
