Benefits of acrylic paints

Acrylic paints are ideal for nail design. They lay down in a dense layer, dry quickly, do not smear and do not shine through. This paint can be applied to the base or any colored varnish – matte, glossy, pearlescent. To make the drawing look as effective as possible, prepare your nails: level them with a polishing bar, remove burrs and cuticles.

Cover the plates with a protective base and two layers of background varnish and only then proceed to painting

A glossy top will help to secure the picture. It is applied after complete drying of the paint in one or two layers. Before fixing, the drawing can be decorated with dry sparkles, large glitter, rhinestones and other decor.

What is needed for nail design

Beginners should get a versatile, thin, sharp brush and an accessory with obliquely cut flat bristles. With these tools, you can draw flower petals and stems, draw a variety of monograms, and make abstract paintings. If you want to add special effects, buy a very thin brush with elongated bristles, ideal for drawing very long, straight lines.

A wide fan-shaped brush is needed for blurring paints, and a dense short one is useful for applying dry glitter

The range of acrylic paints is very wide. You can buy a versatile set of several jars of the most popular colors or create your own palette.

Start with bright and dense base shades, later you can buy additional paints with special effects:

  • sparkles
  • mother of pearl
  • holographic particles

Don’t forget to purchase a mixing palette.

Instead of a palette, you can use a small saucer or paint can lid

A Few Simple Tricks for Beginners

At home, you can make drawings of varying complexity, but it’s better to start with basic techniques. Try a bold design that can be used to decorate all your nails, or to decorate with just a couple of fingers. Cover the plates with two coats of heavy beige-gray varnish. Let it dry.

Drop white and black acrylic paint onto the palette. Take a thin round brush, draw in black paint and place the tip at the base of the nail, closer to the edge. Draw a long, thin, curved line diagonally towards the tip of your nail. Make three of these strokes of different lengths, coming from the same point. Then duplicate the lines to make them look brighter.

Rinse the brush and dry it with a tissue. Type white paint and put three short strokes with it at the base of the nail, they should set off the black lines. At the point where the lines meet, attach a small imitation pearl and cover the nails with a fixation top.

Choose a top coat with a drying effect, it creates a strong film on the nails and holds the pattern well

It is very easy to decorate your nails with a dot pattern. Draw them with a medium-sized round brush or a special stick with a ball attachment. Dip the tool in paint and place a row of dots on the nails according to the chosen design. You can cover either the entire plate or define a smile line. Dots made with paint with sparkles or mother-of-pearl look very elegant.
