Naboth’s cysts – what are they and do they need to be treated?

I just got back from my gynecologist who said I had cysts on my cervix. He mentioned something about Naboth’s cysts, got a Pap smear.

I was a bit nervous about the diagnosis, so I am asking for information about these cysts. Are they dangerous, how are they treated, are there any dangers? Should I get any more tests? ~ daga5

It is always worth doing a cytology. As is known, it is used for the oncological evaluation of the cervix. Whereas the so-called Naboth’s cysts do appear on the cervix and are the result of clogging of the mucous glands in the lining of the cervix. They are not anything dangerous and do not require any special treatment.
