Many of my friends prefer imported beer, supposedly it is better both in taste and quality. I support local producers.
On this basis, a fierce argument broke out recently with one of my friends. He assured me that in Russia they make not only bad cars, but also dubious alcohol.
I offered him a blindfold to try several types of beer, Russian and imported. And compare. To his surprise, he liked my five favorite jars of a Russian manufacturer much more. Now I advise her as a good alternative to expensive foreign beer.
A fierce struggle between Russian and imported beer, where I won a landslide victory!
The story was sent by our regular reader Dmitry.
Beer 1: “The Hunt”
Okhota is a classic of true male beer. With a tart, bitter aftertaste and a pronounced aroma of hops. Dark in color, dense.
The drink is armor-piercing, for lovers of light, light, it is better not to get carried away too much. For strong men, “Hunt” is the best companion for the evening. I love this beer because it doesn’t give me a headache in the morning. Even despite the high fortress.
Hunting is the best beer for strong men.
For me personally, “Hunt” is definitely the leader of the rating here. In addition, this brand is one of the most inexpensive on the Russian market. In the nearest supermarket I buy a jar for only 42 rubles.
Beer 2: Gorky
I learned about “Gorky” beer quite by accident, noticing an unusual jar on the shelf in “Dixie”. The price for 0,5 liters was suspiciously low – only 30 rubles. But I dared to try.
Yeast notes are clearly traced in the aroma. In color – light, but with a caramel tint. Caramel is felt and in taste. In a duet with citrus sourness, a very unusual and interesting combination is obtained. Gorky reminded me of the lively Wheat.
I liked that there was no bitterness in the aftertaste. Goes easily, goes well with simple snacks (such as crackers or chips).
Gorky beer is an unexpectedly pleasant novelty.
Beer 3: Zhigulevskoye
Very pleasant and light light beer. I choose it in those moments when I want to refresh myself with a really high-quality drink. No strong odor or bitter taste.
I like it because it does not cause rapid intoxication and is not accompanied by a hangover. Soft, loose.
The usual price for a jar is about 45 rubles. However, Magnit regularly pleases with shares in Zhigulevskoye and puts it on sale for only 29 rubles. Don’t thank 🙂
Zhigulevskoe – high-quality beer at a nice price.
Beer 4: “Don”
I like “Don” because at the first sip you feel exactly the taste of a good intoxicating drink, and not alcohol. I especially love unfiltered. Cloudy, non-bitter, slightly foamy. The aroma is not pronounced, pleasant.
Very reminiscent of a real live beer from a keg. This is something I especially want to point out, because it is believed that an aluminum can kills the true taste of beer.
One of the most popular brands, you can find in any supermarket. Prices range from 42 to 49 rubles per 0,5 liter.
Beloved Don Ice Filtration.
Beer 5: Baltika 7
Baltika is my unchanging favorite among Russian beers. Very mild taste, with a barely noticeable hop bitterness. The aroma is pleasant, the alcohol smell does not hit the eyes. It has the characteristic color of a quality light beer.
I respect the entire product line, from dark to unfiltered. But Baltika 7 is really the perfect choice. Suitable for all occasions – for barbecue, and for a night walk around the area, and to quench your thirst. And most importantly – does not cause a morning migraine.
The price is pleasant. Varies from 48 to 55 rubles (depending on the margin of the outlet).
Baltika 7 is suitable for any occasion.
I want to expand my rating and choose for myself the Top 10 delicious varieties of Russian beer. It will be interesting to read about your preferences and feedback on quality. Maybe among them I will find the perfect one for me?
