Mother of many children so wanted to lose weight after giving birth that she turned into a jock
It’s amazing how a body weighing 130 kg can transform into the forms of a fitness model.
Four years ago, Australian Natalie Jane stood by the mirror and stared in horror at her blurred body. Then it took about a month after her third pregnancy.
“I was just speechless – I was never so big,” says a young mother, who at that time weighed 130 kg.
Then Natalie took that very iconic photo from which her amazing transformation began.
This photo changed my life. She made me realize that I needed to do something with my health and body after Leo was born. I had no idea who was in this photo. It certainly wasn’t me! “
I must say that Natalie was a donkey before pregnancy.
“I’ve struggled with my weight all my life. As a teenager, I never really liked sports. Exercise was a big punishment for me for what I ate. She dropped out of school at 16 to become a hairdresser and gained 20 kg in 2 years due to constant anxiety, stress and poor nutrition. “
During my first pregnancy, I was diagnosed with heart problems. I was prescribed complete rest, so I spent all 9 months on the couch. Because of the constant nerves about pregnancy, all I did was eat all the time. At the end of my third pregnancy, when the weight reached its maximum, my mind turned over. I realized that I could not do anything. I felt like an unsuitable fat mom. “
And so Jane, who had never held a dumbbell in her hands, went to the gym.
“I remember my first training session. The instructor of our group decided to conduct the lesson on the street. I’ve never cried like that in my life. I was hot and very hard. Therefore, I constantly sat down on the grass to rest a little.
I couldn’t do what the rest of the class was doing, I couldn’t physically. And it was killing me. But I was determined to catch up with everyone in order to do the exercises on a par with the class.
I will forever remember how difficult it is to do simple things when your body is not ready. I remember driving around the parking lot for 20 minutes just to find a place closer, because long distances were hard work for me. “
Natalie admits: more than once she quit training, but then came back again. She was often haunted by a feeling of insecurity, but when the first successes appeared, pride in herself also appeared. As a result, in three years the woman lost 64 kg.
“I lost weight naturally without surgery, without drugs and diets. During this time, she never denied herself a birthday cake and ate chocolate every day. I just went my own way, ”says the young mother.
After such a tremendous weight loss, Natalie needed a tummy tuck. During the operation, she lost another 910 grams – so much weighed her “apron” of excess skin.
Having got rid of the last reminder of the past body, the woman decided to participate in a fitness model competition.
“The last time I wore a bikini was a teenager,” Natalie recalls her feelings on stage. “If I had been told three years ago that I would be photographed in tiny swimsuits, I would have just laughed.”
In the same year, Jane herself became a personal trainer, and her body continued to transform, overgrown with mountains of muscles.
“I’ve been lifting weights in the gym for 4,5 years. I have to admit, it wasn’t my favorite pastime at first. I liked boxing. But I wanted my body to be toned, to have at least a little muscle. Soon, strength training became a relief from stress for me, and the burning sensation in my muscles became an addiction, a feeling that I crave every day. I have to admit that I fight this thirst on my rest days, but my body needs a break. “
How to start losing weight – tips from Natalie
1. Take before pictures.
You will never regret them when you can look back and celebrate the journey to the best version of yourself! Track your progress.
2. Transformation begins in the head
My biggest transformation was a mental transformation … I hated my body so much that every time I saw my picture, I died a little inside!
Be stronger than the excuses in your head and the reasons you can’t or shouldn’t!
3. Don’t expect quick results
Losing weight and changing body composition takes time. There is no quick fix or magic spell. Work hard for your goals!
4. Set small goals every week, not big goals for the year.
People share with me how they set themselves the goal of losing weight in 10-12 weeks, but soon they quit and return to old habits. That’s why I encourage smaller goals, but every week, every month, and not just a set goal for a certain period of time. “
And remember, a goal without a plan is just a desire.
5. Make a schedule
Combining motherhood with work and sports is very difficult, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. I cook right away for a week, it seriously saves time. I plan my workouts before the kids wake up or after they fall asleep, and when they are in school and kindergarten. When I can’t go to the gym, I exercise at home on a stationary bike. If you can’t get to the gym, do a 30 minute workout every day in the living room.
6. Don’t punish yourself with sports
Find pleasure in exercising, not just exercise to say you did it. And then your efforts will pay off not only physically, but also, more importantly, morally! Find something of your own: strength training, yoga, swimming. The main thing is not to arrange yourself an hour-long treadmill sessions as a punishment. Personally, I hate cardio and only do it in preparation for a competition. But to each his own, if only it gives pleasure.
7. You will want to give up
If it was easy, everyone would walk slender and fit. Yes, it won’t be easy. You want to give up. So look for ways to rest, not quit. We all get tired, We all have days when it seems easier to give up, we all have times of self-doubt, we all have days when life tests us, and giving up seems like the best option! But the main point is to get up again and keep moving forward. This is an amazing feeling!
8. No diets, the main thing is balance
Do not starve, do not forbid yourself your favorite treats, but do not overeat to avoid weight surges. Control portions.
How to stop being afraid of the gym
– The gym can be very intimidating. I remember how I became petrified when I went to take a few dumbbells from the rack, – says Natalie. – I thought the whole gym would be looking at me: look, she has no idea what she is doing. We’ve all been in this situation at some point. My advice: do what makes you feel more confident.
Train with a partner or friend.
Join group workouts.
Hire a personal trainer.
Wear what you feel confident in.
Go to the gym with makeup if that’s what helps you.
To begin with, choose a non-peak time when there will be fewer people in the hall.
Before you go to the gym, remember your “why do I need this.”
