In Russia, little girls marched armed with plastic pistols to advocate for world peace. But far from moving, the show aroused strong criticism …
As every year, Russia gives pride of place to headgear at the famous CHAPEAU fair. During this event, several parades and stands present the latest trends in contemporary Russian and international fashion. And we can say that the 2014 edition, which was held a few days ago in Moscow, was strong, even very strong.
As war rages in eastern Ukraine between Ukrainian soldiers and pro-Russian separatists, a show with children has created controversy. And for good reason, little girls aged between 10 and 12, dressed in dresses in the colors of the different countries, paraded on the catwalk. Each wore a hat representing a flagship monument of the nation in question. So far nothing abnormal. The problem was, these ladies had dummy guns that they took turns aiming at the audience.. Models representing countries such as Russia, France, China, Spain and Great Britain pointed their guns at the assembly. So far, I’m not a fan. But what is most disconcerting is that the little girl sporting the blue and yellow colors of Ukraine pointed the gun squarely at her head, mimicking suicide, after she, too, had aimed her gun at her head. weapon in the direction of the spectators, then towards the small “Russian” and the small “American”.
Fortunately, the end is much less gloomy since a little girl, dressed as an angel, comes to disarm all her colleagues. And the little girls wearing the colors of the United States, Ukraine and Russia join hands.

From the top of her 10 years, Alita Andrishevskaya, the supposed creator of this show, who also represented Russia, explained that the theme of her historical reconstruction was “the children of the world against war”. The presenter of the event added that this show “was inspired by the events in Ukraine. This table shows that all the children of the world are united, they are friends and want peace ”. For their part, the organizers made it clear that this show was “not at all political”. No kidding ? Despite the rather benevolent ending, I am not convinced. Did young Alita really manage this show on her own? The costumes, the hats, the weapons and the setting? One wonders… Many adults, whether Russians or Ukrainians, already do not understand this war. So children? !!
In order to calm the controversy, Alita posted on social networks a photo of all the “countries” gathered with the caption: “This is how it should be. This poor child, and all the others, were certainly used to carry out a “beautiful” propaganda message …
