Films are released to the cinema, the best recommendation for viewing of which are the names of their creators.
Aleksey Balabanov, our most discussed director between excursions into politics and ideology (the dilogy «Brother», «Cargo 200») invariably returns to the era of decadence, with the depiction of which his most expressive and nervous films are associated — «Happy Days» and «About Freaks and of people». The script was once written by Sergei Bodrov, Jr., based on Morphine itself and Mikhail Bulgakov’s Notes of a Young Doctor. And he was going to make this film himself. But, of course, I would not object to Balabanov, a friend and in some ways a teacher, doing it now.
