The amazingly beautiful cosplay helped 7-year-old Laila overcome shyness and become self-confident.
First graders are often very shy. Still, because they have to merge into a completely new environment for them. Well, parents, of course, worry about their kids and do their best to help them adapt. And their fantasy is truly limitless. One mom every day meets her son from school in a new carnival costume – she tries on the appearance of a princess, then a character from “Harry Potter”. In general, every day is a holiday.
Another American mom, Camilla Curts, had a similar idea. She is a professional photographer. And I decided to make my daughter the center of a whole photo project.
Every month, seven-year-old Laila turns into a new Disney princess, if not a superhero. In each appearance, a new photo session awaits her, which her mother shares on her Instagram page. Each photo is seen by almost 37 thousand subscribers. And so for two years.
Camilla is sure: such experiments help Laila become more open and stop being shy. First, the fear of the camera breaks down, then the fear of the public, and then nothing is scary at all. After all, a girl hears so many compliments, how can she not grow self-confidence!
Mom herself joined the bright cosplay. They make dresses together with their daughter. And if the costume is especially complicated, they go for help to the professionals – to the seamstresses. And, by the way, if Laila is more to her liking the images of princesses (like any other seven-year-old girl), then her mother prefers to transform into negative characters.
As Camilla herself said, their favorite photoset is on the theme of the cartoon “The Little Mermaid”. Laila turned into Ariel, and Camilla turned into the charismatic Ursula.
