The number of COVID-19 cases in the UK is steadily increasing week by week. The threat of the fifth wave hangs over this country. Currently, patients most often report three symptoms that stand out above others. What are these symptoms and are they different from those seen since the beginning of the pandemic? Prof. Spector.

Cases in Great Britain are increasing
Professor Tim Spector of King’s College London, who runs the ZOE COVID application where data is collected on the disease, talks about the three dominant symptoms in the UK today.
In his latest YouTube video, the professor said users are now reporting runny nose, headache, and fatigue more than any other symptom. He admitted that high-summer covid runny nose is “hard to distinguish from hay fever,” but there are some distinguishing features.
According to the professor – if the runny nose is accompanied by fatigue and sore throat – we are talking more about an Omicron infection.
Do you suspect you have COVID-19? Do you feel tired, have a headache, have a runny nose and cough? Perform the COVID-19 Home Cassette Test available at Medonet Market. Result within 15-30 minutes. We also recommend the SARS-COV-2 smear antigen test for self-testing, which is currently available at a promotional price.
What to expect next?
According to the latest data from the ZOE COVID app, the number of daily symptomatic infections increased by 150% this month, from 114 on Friday, June 030, to 1 on Monday, June 285. That’s an increase of 507 new infections per day. This is the highest level since the start of the epidemic, with the exception of the three other weeks when records were broken.
Prof. Spector expects the number of cases until the weekend to stay just under 300. He did not rule out that next week there will be more patients.
However, it is worth emphasizing very strongly that the data used by prof. Spector and on which the application is based are reports based not only on official data, but also on declarations and reports of application users. These figures are therefore higher, although they confirm what can be seen in the official data: the number of infections is growing dynamically.
