Due to the heat, the Krakow ambulance service has more and more reports of fainting and fainting. From Thursday to Sunday, there were over 100 such cases, since the beginning of July over 300 – Barbara Grzybek-Korgól, a spokeswoman for the Krakow emergency service, told PAP.
Until an ambulance reaches the victim, the dispatchers are to give instructions to the person who is with the victim what to do in case of fainting.
The city authorities decided on Monday to erect a water barrel with drinking water near the Town Hall Tower on the Main Market Square. According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, high temperatures, up to 32 degrees Celsius, are to be maintained in Krakow until Thursday.
Doctors recommend that on hot days, if possible, stay in cool rooms, eat light meals with plenty of vegetables and fruit, and drink water and juices, especially tomato juice, which replenishes the potassium excreted from the body along with sweat. Elderly people, children and people with cardiac problems should limit their exposure to the sun, and it is best to plan their departure from home for the morning or evening hours (PAP).
