Monte Choco (“Monte Choco”)

From the French “Monte Choco” – chocolate top. The name of the drink is associated with taste qualities: the cognacs of the Dmitrovsky factory have a rich taste of chocolate and a bright aroma of freshly roasted cocoa beans. They are made from Russian brandy spirits distilled according to the French method, but from grapes harvested in the Krasnodar Territory and Stavropol Territory. In addition to Russian masters, French specialists took part in the creation of the blend.

Historical reference. The Russian group of companies was established in 1998 around the OST-Alco Chernogolovsky plant built in 1995 in the Moscow region. The company’s headquarters are still located there today. Closed Joint Stock Company “Ost” is engaged in the production and sale of alcohol and soft drinks. The CJSC includes the OstStroy development company, the OstTara glass container manufacturing company, the OstAkva CJSC, which produces low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, the OstMaster design and printing group, and two distilleries – in Chernogolovka and Dmitrov.

Monte Choco drinks are produced by the Dmitrov distillery founded in 1992. The assortment of the enterprise includes only strong alcohol – vodka and cognacs. The most famous brands of vodka are Zhardo and Russian Feast. In addition to “Monte Choco”, the plant produces vintage cognac “Feter Old Barrel” and ordinary “Fort Royal”.

Types of cognac “Monte Choco”

Monte Choco VS (40%). Amber-golden cognac, according to the French classification, it belongs to the Very Special class, which corresponds to the Russian “three-star” brandy. Cognac spirits aged for at least three years are used in the production. The aroma of the drink is vanilla-fruity with pronounced chocolate notes. Harmonious taste with hints of vanilla and black bitter chocolate. Warm short aftertaste with hints of cocoa and almonds.

Monte Choco VVSOP (40%). The drink, classified as very-very light and old (Very-Very Superior Old Pale), is created from six-year-old cognac spirits, has a deep amber color and a rich chocolate-floral aroma with notes of patchouli. The harmonious taste is also dominated by chocolate and floral shades. A short tart aftertaste balances the sweetness with tones of oak bark. Cognac is recommended by restaurateurs as a digestif – it will emphasize the aroma of coffee and good tobacco.

Ladies Cocktails with Monte Choco

Cinzano Darling Clementine

Bartenders consider this cocktail to be ladies’, because it is weak and sweet, the main ingredient is vermouth, which goes well with one of the varieties of tangerines – “clementines”. Cognac only sets off the taste. And the name “Dear Clementine” is borrowed from American folklore – that was the name of the heroine of the ballad.

Ingredients:

  • 80 ml vermouth Cinzano Orancio;
  • 15 ml Monte Choco VS;
  • 15 ml of tangerine fresh;
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • approximately 3 tablespoons of crushed ice.

Recipe: mix juice with sugar, add crushed ice, pour in vermouth and then cognac. Stir with a cocktail spoon and garnish the rim of the glass with tangerine zest.

ABC

This cocktail is recommended by bartenders for serving after desserts – it is moderately sweet and soft, looks very elegant and beautiful. The name characterizes the composition – 3 ingredients, and the algorithm – 3 steps in preparation.

Ingredients:

  • 20 ml Monte Choco VS;
  • 20 ml Irish Cream liqueur;
  • 20 ml Amaretto liqueur

Recipe: Pour Amaretto into a glass, then Irish Cream with a bar spoon, and cognac on top.
