Monetary eczema – causes, symptoms, treatment, photos

Eczema nematodes are inflammatory skin lesions that appear as well-defined, scattered, coin-shaped foci that tend to ooze and scab. The frequency of this condition remains unknown, and some authors believe that this type of lesion is more common in older people than younger people.

What is monetary eczema?

Monetary eczema is nothing more than a dermatitis characterized by the presence of a large number of scattered inflammations, resembling a coin in shape (hence the name of the ailment). Mating eczema causes symptoms such as itching, dryness and peeling of the skin. Lesions tend to ooze and form scabs. This kind of ailment can occur at any age, but most often it occurs in older people.

The causes of acne eczema

The causes of macular eczema remain unknown. It was believed that they played a fundamental role in its formation bacterial antigens and bacterial toxins, especially present in inflammatory foci located in internal organs. However, the treatment of these lesions did not bring the expected improvement (cholecystectomy, surgical removal of the inflammation of the paranasal sinuses). So it is likely that nematode eczema is related to an intracorporeal infection.

Secondary infection of lesions occurring in monetary eczema is common, but does not constitute evidence of an infectious background of the disease. Some authors suggest that due to the presence of lesions with the same morphology as in atopic eczema, nematode eczema is closely related to atopic dermatitis.

Monetary eczema is very rare in children.

Patients with nematode eczema may be hypersensitive to:

  1. some preparations, e.g. neomycin,
  2. metals (e.g. nickel, mercury),
  3. formaldehyde.

Support in the treatment of eczema and skin care with a tendency to its occurrence is the Bioherba Peeling Kit (enzyme peeling + neutralizer), which thoroughly cleans the skin and at the same time helps in the healing of eczema lesions.

Monetary eczema is very likely in people:

  1. suffering from frequent swelling of the legs,
  2. having poor blood flow
  3. taking certain preparations, e.g. interferon or isotretonin recommended in the treatment of acute acne,
  4. with changes (wounds) on the skin resulting from scratching, insect bites or contact with chemical substances,
  5. suffering from dry skin,
  6. with bacterial dermatitis,
  7. living in a cold and dry climate on a daily basis,
  8. with other ailments of a dermatological nature, e.g. atopic dermatitis.

Monetary eczema – symptoms

In the course of nodular eczema, there are quite clearly demarcated, coin-sized inflammatory foci with the presence of swelling papules and vesicles. The number of eruptions varies, ranging from a few to a very large number of blisters. The chronic form is dominated by minor exfoliation within the erythematous foci. In addition, there is a pronounced itching, which is intensified especially at night. The course is chronic, often recurrent.

Other characteristic symptoms of acne eczema:

  1. the lesions are most often located on the trunk, lower limbs and backs of the hands; sometimes they can affect the feet, chest, arms and hands,
  2. the spots on the skin are from 0,5 to 2 centimeters,
  3. Monetary eczema has a tendency to relapse,
  4. inflammatory foci occurring in the course of nematode eczema may be subject to bacterial superinfection; then it is necessary to implement an antibiotic,
  5. skin eruptions accompanying the discomfort resemble skin lesions caused by fungi. For this reason, it is important to diagnose skin mycosis, especially when the patient does not respond to treatment.

Monetary eczema and diagnostics

In the diagnosis of acetic eczema, particular attention is paid to its clinical picture and information obtained during a medical interview. Most patients do not need any additional tests because the symptoms of eczema are so characteristic that they are sufficient to make a diagnosis. Sometimes skin samples are taken to rule out ringworm, and patch tests are also performed to identify the allergen that is causing the disease.

The histopathological picture of the nodular eczema changes is not specific. Within the epidermis there is acanthosis and spongiosis with the formation of blisters and scabs, while in the dermis there is a perivascular lymphocytic infiltration. In more severe cases, the epidermis shows psoriasis-like lesions, but without microcracks.

Monetary eczema should be differentiated from other ailments with similar symptoms, e.g .:

  1. smooth skin mycosis;
  2. winter eczema;
  3. ammonium atopic dermatitis;
  4. contact dermatitis;
  5. small-focal psoriasis.

How to Treat Monetary Eczema?

Topical corticosteroid ointments or creams are used to treat ailments, sometimes general short-term steroid therapy is required. It is necessary to ensure adequate protection of damaged skin. For this purpose, moisturizing and moisturizing preparations are recommended. Very rarely, in the case of severe lesions, oral corticosteroids and antiallergic preparations are administered. If there is a bacterial superinfection, antibiotics are necessary.

What’s the prognosis? Cautiously, nematode eczema is a chronic disease with frequent relapses.

Acne-prone skin should be properly cared for. For this purpose, it is worth buying Natural Dead Sea Mud Soap, which is available at a promotional price on the Medonet Market.

Prevention of acne eczema

Here are some practical tips you can use to help prevent pimple eczema.

1. Avoid situations that may irritate or damage the skin. This is important because any irritants can exacerbate the symptoms of nematode eczema. Instead of taking a bath, it is better to take a shower. It is worth staying away from the heater and fire.

2. Moisturize the skin with a variety of moisturizing creams. Ideally, they should be used immediately after bathing, when the skin is still slightly damp. These types of preparations help retain water in the skin. The most popular of them are emollients that keep the skin properly moisturized.

3. Avoid using soap as it has drying properties. We recommend gentle cleansing and care preparations that block the loss of water through the skin.

4. Humidify the air in the rooms where you are.

5. Wear looser clothes and avoid materials that are coarse and irritating to the skin.

Monetary eczema is a chronic disease, so following the advice above will help you avoid aggravating and causing symptoms of this ailment.

Specialized cosmetics should be used for problematic skin. Try, for example, EPTA AC cleansing cleansing fluid for oily and acne-prone skin, which you can buy separately or in the EPTA AC comprehensive set for cleansing and care of oily and acne-prone skin.
