During childbirth, the young mother’s heart stopped, which led to irreversible brain damage. The girl did not breathe for too long.
The photo was taken just hours before Tegan’s death. For obvious reasons, her face is not in the photo – it was no longer the same girl as before. But the baby, sensing the smell of a loved one, suddenly smiled and clung to his mother’s chest.

Tegan became a mother on September 9. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Parker. The baby weighed 4,5 kg. However, complications began during childbirth. Internal bleeding led to cardiac arrest. Doctors performed resuscitation, the heart began to beat again, but clinical death lasted too long – the brain was already damaged.
The doctors kept the young mother in the hospital for about a month. 35-year-old Abby Hallowell, mother of Teegan, believed until the last that her daughter would make it out. But Tegan’s condition only worsened. She died on October 7.

A few hours before her death, Tegan was able to snuggle up to her baby, but she hardly perceived everything that was happening in the hospital ward.
Realizing that the end was near, Parker’s grandmother put her grandson in her daughter’s arms and took as many photos as she could. She wanted Parker, when he grew up, to see these pictures, to see how he was lying in her mother’s arms.
“Now that she’s gone, I make collages of my grandson with my daughter, we dress Parker in clothes with photographs of his mother. I want her to always be with him, ”says Abby.

“Tegan was looking forward to becoming a mother, she was so excited! – recalls Parker’s grandmother. – She would be the best mom in the world. She loved Parker so much, but she couldn’t even show her love for him. “
Tegan was looking forward to meeting the baby.
“I can’t imagine that now I’ll live without her, that I no longer hear her beautiful voice,” says Abby. “Until my daughter’s death, I had no idea that my heart could break into a million pieces.”
