What gadgets will help after pregnancy? Understanding

Muscle aches, stretch marks and other unpleasant companions of pregnancy and the first months of motherhood can be reduced with a bandage, massage balls and other irreplaceable items. About what you need to buy before giving birth, says Vladimir Zhivotov, an osteopathic doctor.

Before, during and after childbirth, a woman experiences an increased load on the body, sometimes just colossal. The musculoskeletal system is tested for strength, and the weak points of the body fall into the risk zone. It is within the power of every woman to provide for this and take care of her body. In addition to preparing for childbirth, the help of an osteopath before and after the birth of a child, the mother will need “silent assistants”. Their mission is to reduce as much as possible the load on the musculoskeletal system, on the body as a whole, and to prevent severe deformities and disorders that are often the result of pregnancy and childbirth.

Prevention of prolapse of internal organs and muscle stretching

During labor, the pelvic floor muscles and the ligaments that suspend the uterus are stretched. The situation is aggravated by squeezing the fetus and strong straining. The uterus stretches the abdominal wall, especially strongly – with polyhydramnios, twins or a large fetus. And if the muscles can still be brought into shape, the residual stretching of the fascia will remain. This can be avoided or at least reduced the consequences with the help of some well-known and simple devices.

Tying sling

It is necessary to tie up the abdomen immediately after childbirth, on the first day. Knowledgeable midwives do this in the hospital. But tying yourself should be continued at home, as it is a useful restorative practice.

Bandage

It should be worn during pregnancy and after childbirth. Do not be lazy to visit a specialty store to choose one that will suit you perfectly. A bandage is an excellent prevention of prolapse of internal organs, especially if you wear it constantly throughout pregnancy. At the same time, it helps to relieve the lower back.

Slimming underwear

A couple of months after giving birth, the bandage can be changed to tightening panties and worn for up to six months or more after giving birth. It is important that the tightening panties are with or without a wide elastic band. Also pay attention to the material and choose only natural linen.

All three helpers are needed for maximum effect. Each one performs important functions and is irreplaceable at a certain stage.

Swimming circle

This device is suitable for pregnant women at a later date, when they really want to lie on their stomachs, but there is no longer an opportunity. The opening of the circle should be slightly larger than the size of the belly. Inflate the circle tightly and lie down so that the stomach is exactly in the middle, as if in a suspended state. And if the space around the circle is “raised” by soft things, you will be able to rest comfortably.

Further, a young mother will need items that will facilitate the first months of her life after childbirth.

Sling

If a woman constantly carries a child in her arms, her neck and shoulder girdle are heavily loaded. And they already strain enough when they have to feed the baby and bend over to him. Therefore, it is recommended to use a sling – an invention that has come to us from time immemorial. Nuance – it is convenient to wear a bulky jacket with it, in which both will fit.

Sling pluses:

  • Both hands are free. You can do all the household chores together.

  • Mom remains mobile: she is not limited to walking in the yard, but can walk wherever it is convenient or necessary for her.

  • You can put the baby to the breast and feed without taking it out of the sling.

  • The child is always there, she is at her mother’s breast and he feels her warmth. There is such an expression that the mother then really carried the child when he was 9 months in her and 9 months on her.

Pillow for feeding

The nursing pillow helps the mother to take the most comfortable position and relieves the musculoskeletal system: it relieves stress from the arms, shoulders, neck and back. This is because the mother does not have to bend too low to breastfeed the baby. The pillow supports the mother’s hand and the baby’s head, so the hand does not get numb. It is best to buy pillows made from natural materials with synthetic filling so that they can be washed.

Massage ball and rolling pin

With the help of the ball, you can massage the thighs, the area between the shoulders and shoulder blades. You can simply put it under your back and massage these areas while lying down. Instead of a special massage ball, a children’s rubber ball is quite suitable. The rolling pin is perfect for massaging the feet by actively rolling them.
